Daily Inspiration: Meet Paul Lindsay

Today we’d like to introduce you to Paul Lindsay.

Hi Paul, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
It all started as a young man, watching my mum and grandmother in the kitchen, wondering what they were doing. It was intriguing to me so I finally pulled on my Mum’s apron strings to see what was going on, and that’s how it began. Started working in Restaurants at 14 yrs. old and worked the better part of 28 yrs. in the business. I left the business 1.5 years ago to do my own thing, I Know A Chef is my business, I provide Meal Prep, Private Parties, Cooking Classes.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Never a smooth road, Restaurant business is a hard chosen life, work 100+ hours a week and have no real life, drank a lot of it away and became really good at being an Alcoholic! Broken relationships, life passes you by, I choose life instead of misery and death. Got sober, got out of the toxic business that fed me and killed me at the same time. I’m grateful to be where I am today.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Meal Prep- feed families and busy professionals each week with upwards of 500 meals a week Private Parties-In Clients homes I create a better than restaurant experience with any number of options, sit down multiple courses, gathering style, cocktail party vibe, I’m super integrated with the guests and want a positive human connection, I’m as much a part of the party as the food is Cooking classes- love teaching, connecting with people who want to learn and I’m blessed to have the ability to adapt what I know and apply to the students if you will and pass along my knowledge and passion.

What does success mean to you?
Joy, Happiness in one’s self Fueling your passion. Human connections and relationships Helping others when needed Kindness is Gangster AF.
