Daily Inspiration: Meet Mikayla Bufalo

Today we’d like to introduce you to Mikayla Bufalo.

Hi Mikayla, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers?
I originally moved here from Illinois to Arizona at the age of twenty. I was diagnosed with alopecia at a very young age and had to wear wigs and such as a child. I was able to build a strong passion for hair in fifth grade. It just blossomed over time. I have spent the past four years working towards owning my own salon and building a strong clientele! I’ve had the privilege to learn from some of the best artists. Doing so I have created an amazing coaching program to help other stylists build their clientele and confidence behind the chair. I worked for a fantastic salon in the heart of old town, Scottsdale. I made the decision to start my own suite about three months ago! I am a color and extensions specialist. I absolutely love what I do!

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
Moving to a new state waste hardest part. I’m grateful I started my journey in the state I wanted to live in! I had a few ups and downs figuring out the route I wanted to take within the beauty industry. Trails and errors that led me to where I am today!

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I own a small business, Yeah Girl Salon! I specialize in color specifically blondes, dimensional colors, and tape-in hair extensions! I am very proud to say I opened up my own spot at the age of twenty-four years old! I have a special way of connecting with my clients that I’d say sets me apart from others. I go above and beyond to ensure my clients are always taken care of. I feel it’s very important to have a safe environment. My salon is that safe place, free of judgment and full of love and positivity.

What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
My ultimate goal with my salon is two eventually expand and hire a few stylist to work alongside and have a rental salon.
