Daily Inspiration: Meet Marina Maria

Today we’d like to introduce you to Marina Maria.

Hi Marina, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
My life changed completely and for the better when I started following Jesus in 2007. My life took an unexpected drastic turn after hitting rock bottom from a divorce nineteen years ago and dealing with childhood trauma issues that were unresolved. Soon after, I met my best friend, Louie, who is now my husband. I met him while I was working at the University of Phoenix online as an Enrollment Counselor. After leaving the university, I pursued a career in education and during this time I was searching for peace and love due to witnessing and experiencing different forms of abuse in my childhood. It was the unforgiveness in my life towards my father that caused me to make negative decisions until my best friend, Louie, shared a prayer that I said that led me to Jesus on Easter Sunday. After the prayer, I saw the world, people, and myself differently but most importantly I found the peace and love that I had been searching for all my life. I also met Christian counselors that guided me towards healing. Here’s a simple prayer that I found on google that reminded me of what I said to Jesus on Easter Sunday.

“Dear Lord Jesus, I know I am a sinner and need Your forgiveness. I believe You died for my sins and rose from the dead. I turn from my sins and invite You to be Lord of my life. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”

After I said this prayer, the love search was over because now Jesus is in my heart. Nine months later, Louie and I were married and my life improved again. It was in the summer of 2019 when the Lord put it in my heart to volunteer at a Christian radio station for the entire summer in Phoenix, Arizona, so I did and shortly afterwards I was led to start my own radio program interviewing Christian pastors and leaders. The first guest that the Lord sent for me to interview was Pastor David Cota, a native missionary pastor from Arizona Ministry Network. Afterwards, Pastor Cota referred numerous other pastors from Arizona to my radio program, Faith City Outreach. Soon after, I did part-time missionary work in the native lands in Arizona and part-time radio ministry, along with my full time job in education. This led to eventually starting my own internet radio station, Global Gospel Worship Radio, on January 30th, 2021. Since then, I have made several ministry partnerships. In 2025, I created a new partnership, the Canadian Selah Music Awards. Unexpectedly, they blessed me with a Lifetime Music Ambassador Award.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
As always, it takes time to start a new business or ministry. It takes faith and trust in God. It takes daily prayer and reading the bible. However, the Lord is faithful and I enjoy being faithful to Him too. After all, He gave me a new life, a better life, and died for me so I can live eternally with Him in heaven. No turning back. Life is bumpier and lifeless without Him. Growing up, I lived many years without Jesus in my life and I would not want to be without Him again. John 14.6

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am the Host of Faith City Outreach, which airs on my internet radio station, Global Gospel Worship Radio. I interview Christian pastors, leaders, worship singers, authors, and artists from all over the world. The show is on Monday thru Friday at 10a.m and 5p.m. MST. The music on my internet radio station is Christian music from different cultures and languages and there’s many songs from worship singers that I have interviewed in the past.

Last year in June 2025, I partnered with the Canadian Selah Music Awards (CSMA) and they granted me an award as a, Lifetime Music Ambassador. At the Canadian Selah Music Awards event in Calgary, Canada, I was one of their red carpet Hosts and interviewed many anointed Christian singers from all over the world. It was a huge blessing to interview these singers who have such deep love for the Lord.

Last year, I also wrote a book,After the Rainbow Came Hope, based on my testimony and available on Amazon. I am currently writing the sequel to it.

How do you think about luck?
I don’t believe in luck but living out God’s purpose and plan for my life. As a result, this blesses the Lord and He blesses me in return and I’m able to bless others too. This brings me great joy in my life.. I hope and pray this encourages others to do the same.
