Today we’d like to introduce you to Marcelo Pinheiro.
Marcelo, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
It all started when I was 9, I and my brother shared a room and my brother has always been connected with music, at the moment he works in a music agency, and at the time he was always playing different songs and messing around in reason, he had a couple of guitars and a bass so music was present from a very young age.
When he was at work, I would play with the guitars and just mess around, around that time I’ve come across FL Studio and started to do some basic beats and loops, it was always present until today but always just messing around, just about 2 years ago was when I decided that producing is what I want to do and it’s when I started to take it seriously.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Far from a smooth road, in music there are always ups and downs, it’s a constant battle against yourself, because most of the time you are your worst enemy, you are the one that is putting yourself down most of the time.
Always comparing your work with others and always thinking that what you do is not enough, what most call the imposter syndrome, but at the end of the day, I do music because I love to do it and will always do it even if nobody listens to it.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m a music producer, at the moment focusing on my liquid drum and bass project called CAESIUM, it’s a fairly new project it was created last year, 2022, it has two releases one on DNBB Records and another on Influeza Media, and many more to come along the year.
This project is unique in a way that there are no limitations to it, I explore a lot inside of the liquid spectrum, and I don’t like to be stuck in a single word or specific thing.
How can people work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
Instagram is the best place to collaborate nowadays at @caesiumdnb or simply by email (caesiumdnb@gmail.com) just dropping an email is really easy and nice as well.
Giving a follow on Spotify helps a lot as well so for many of the releases that are gonna come out you’ll get it straight to your Spotify page and simply listen to the tracks that are the best way of support possible.
