Daily Inspiration: Meet Maeby

Today we’d like to introduce you to Maeby .

Hi Maeby, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I started off by recording song ideas in my voice memos, going to open mics every week, and making friends that also care about music. Since then I’ve been doing shadow work, figuring myself out within my own artistry. I’m finely at a point in my life where I feel confident in my musicality and I’m ready to re-introduce myself to my current and future following.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I don’t come from a wealthy family, nor have I ever been given any connections that would make this journey easier. There have been times where I was so broke I couldn’t eat, which has led to an overwhelming level of stress and depression. Overcoming those hardships helped me learn that I am deserving of love, and that I am capable of transforming my art into something more.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I specialize in being hot, and I don’t mean this on a superficial level. Being hot is power. I write my music with the intention of promoting listeners to embrace the power of their hotness, to really internalize it. It’s not that serious either though. At the end of the day I just wanna have fun, be hot, and party. I think my music is that vibe.

How do you define success?
Success to me is cultivating a shared electric experience between myself and my following.
