Daily Inspiration: Meet Lisa Roberts

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lisa Roberts.

Lisa, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I have been a nurse for the last 29 years and have always had a calling to help others. Most of my career was in the hospital setting. I got into aesthetics purely by accident – due to my love of continued learning – a friend asked me if I wanted to go learn Botox and Filler and I said yes. I fell in love with aesthetics! I realized my most rewarding experiences were helping others look and feel better about themselves. I opened her my location at Salon Boutique Suites in Surprise, Arizona.

In April of 2021 my daughters, Lindsey and Lauren started working with me. They are both Certified Laser Technicians and Licensed Aestheticians with the State of Arizona. We work together to create great outcomes for our clients. I love to grow and change is important to me. We are always adding new services, new products, and new devices!

We pride ourselves on being able to offer the most up-to-date aesthetic treatment options for our clients. We are really down to earth and love our work.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Being a business owner is not a straight smooth road. It definitely has its ups and downs. I still worry about if I am doing the right thing and if we will get clients in the door.

There is a lot of work that I have to do in the background that even my daughters don’t see. I know people may look at me and think she has it made, she makes her own schedule and works when she wants….but let me tell you…I work all the time! Even as much as I work, I absolutely love it. My clients make it worth it.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a Registered Nurse. I have been a nurse since 1994. Most of my nursing career has been in cardiology. in 2019 I started in aesthetics and started my own business while I worked at the hospital. In September of 2020, I left the hospital to focus on aesthetics full-time.

I am a lifelong learner and I have a Doctorate in Nursing. I take every opportunity to continue to learn whether it is through webinars, hands-on training, or conferences. I am doing some type of learning activity at least monthly. I am in the process of becoming a national trainer for InMode Aesthetics to help teach others how to use their laser devices.

At our spa, we offer a wide array of services. These services include facials, waxing, chemical peels, regular microneedling, radio frequency microneedling, laser hair removal, laser skin resurfacing, body contouring, cosmetic injections like botox and filler, IV therapy, and wellness injections. We have just added a treatment for women’s urinary incontinence.

I think what sets us apart is the fact that we are a family business and I get to work with my daughters who share a passion for the aesthetics space.

What’s next?
My future plans include obtaining our own storefront space and expanding. We are limited now to just 3 of us. So when we expand we are also going to add more staff and more rooms! My goal is to be the premier med spa in the west valley.
