Today we’d like to introduce you to Kristin Comstock.
Hi Kristin, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I started off with a basic camera in April of 2020 so I can photograph my six-year-old at the time. I became pregnant with my second that same summer and had him in February of 2021. March 2021, I’ve upgraded all of my equipment and decided to pick back up on my photography dream. I started with posting for free sessions in Freebie groups for the Phoenix area and have now built up such an amazing support system of other photographers, models and other clients. I truly couldn’t be more grateful!
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
No! There were a lot of financial challenges in the beginning as a “starving artist” who had no other income besides this at the time. I did a lot of online classes and workshops, a lot of free and discounted photography sessions to play with my camera and learn all of the settings, and had lots and lots of practice editing.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
Most known for my photography business: Mischief Momager Photography. I do portraits, family photography, lifestyle, boudoir, and much much more!
I’m so incredibly proud of myself for turning my hobby into a business. Countless hours spent learning, practicing, and editing as well as learning new ways to communicate with people for posing and overcoming my anxiety to even leave the house after being pregnant during a pandemic, was so amazing. I’m a hustler. I’ve always worked hard for things we need or want. I’ve struggled throughout my adult life, but I will never let my kids go through that struggle ever again!
Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
My kids for being my light and life in this world, as I couldn’t imagine my life any other way! My mom for helping me upgrade to my first professional camera. My boyfriend for doing his daddy duties and caring for my kiddos while I can go to my photography sessions.
