Today we’d like to introduce you to Jessica Sullivan.
Hi Jessica, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
A couple of years ago I mentioned the idea to my husband but wasn’t 100% sold on it yet. Summer of 2022 I kept seeing it all over social media and wanted to get matching bracelets with my sister. A month later, we were invited to a private party and finally got our forever bracelets and loved them! After leaving the party and talking to my husband again I got the green light to launch my business on our side of town in East Mesa.
I started my permanent jewelry business out of pure love for jewelry, the meaning behind each customizable piece, and the many years of my husband’s welding expertise. I hope that we create a memory of a special experience that lasts forever and for years to come.
Between scheduling markets, pop-ups, private events, and private parties we’ve been busy ever since launching in September of 2022.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Not necessarily, the only struggle at first was trying to find the best quality chains and charms for our customers.
It was countless hours of research. All of our chains are purchased from American-made suppliers and have gone through multiple tests (chemically and quality). Having a wholesale license means lower prices. We want the best for our customers!
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I have worked in the staffing industry full-time for over 9 years. I am a performance manager and proud of my success; from starting at the bottom and working my way up to prove that I was a great asset to the company. Being a single mom at the time and not having a college degree, I had to work even harder. While it has some challenges I’m forever grateful for my career and how I got to where I am today.
I always knew I wanted to be an entrepreneur. Growing up having two parents who successfully owned and run businesses I knew in my heart it was what I wanted to do. Being in the corporate world I would have to dress business professionally – of course, I had jewelry every day to match every outfit. My love my for jewelry clicked and I wanted to make that my statement. Starting Sulley & Co. has never felt like work, I love meeting new faces and people I’d never meet otherwise.
Custom fitted, hand welded jewelry. Trust me, it’s not as frightening as it sounds! Customer chooses from dainty chains that consist of 925 sterling silver, 14k gold filled or 14k rose gold. Charms are option but a great addition. It is then custom fitted to their wrist, neck, finger or ankle. Lastly, its a quick weld process that leaves you with a beautiful permanent piece you’ll love forever! We offer bracelets, necklaces, anklets and rings.
So, before we go, how can our readers or others connect or collaborate with you? How can they support you?
I love meeting new people and collaborating! I’ve done several collaborations so far and it’s such a great way to meet others in the community.
Anyone can collaborate with me! The more the better. Supporting is a part of showing up for one another. Meeting other small business owners is a great learning experience and new ideas are always brought to the table.
I saw this quote the other day: supporting another person’s business will not damper yours! There is room for all of us to succeed. Love that!
