Daily Inspiration: Meet Jessi Rodriguez

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jessi Rodriguez.

Hi Jessi, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’ve been a Pilates Instructor since 2006. I’ve owned my own studio and worked at lot’s of studios. I had a lot of people asking me about Pilates they could do at home when they couldn’t come in the studio, or were on vacation. I couldn’t find one that I really loved.

So I made my own- thus- Pilates by Jessi was born! I started my online platform in June of 2024 and we are gong strong with new classes being added weekly. You can do Pilates Mat Classes with no props, with inexpensive props, the TRX or your own reformer. So many classes to choose from you will never get bored!

My goal was to make Pilates accessible to EVERYONE. Not just those that can afford in person classes. Though in person is ideal, it’s not reality for everyone. I’ve made classes that do their best to replicate the in person experience in the comfort of your own home.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It’s been a slow growth business, though consistently growing. Biggest challenges have been marketing and learning the technical stuff like website design, loading videos, editing videos etc.

Getting over my fear of making mistakes and having it on film for everyone to see.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I specialize in creating Pilates classes that are good for all levels and abilities. I offer progressions in my online classes so you can make things as challenging as you would like.

I love to hear about how people are feeling and looking better after doing my classes! I have a major passion for Pilates with the TRX. Those are my favorite classes on my site. But the Mat classes are awesome too, and require NO equipment.

I make sure to show when I struggle and mess up- I don’t edit it out. I feel like most platforms have flawless bodies doing everything perfect. I keep it real, and fun and hopefully entertaining along the way.

I am most proud of how many classes I now have on my site in less then a year. It’s been a huge learning curve but I’m excited to see how it continues to grow!

Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
Chelsea DeBruin-Colbert- a Clarity and Alignment Coach helped me get this business off the ground. She has been a huge part of my success with her ability to help me get past my fears of failure and jump in with 2 feet.

My husband, kids and parents have all helped support me along the way. Troubleshooting, videoing, being featured in my videos- they have all helped me get to where I am today.

My clients that I teach in person have been huge cheerleaders supporting me getting my own platform started. A lot of them do my online classes in addition to their in person classes. So many of them came to my launch party and have pushed me along the way.
