Daily Inspiration: Meet Jenn Baluch

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jenn Baluch.

Hi Jenn, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I started my food page a little over a year ago. I was working a 9 am -5 pm corporate job. I never did anything for myself. All I did was work, go home, eat, sleep and do it all over again. I decided to start this page so I had a fun side hobby to do. Then COVID came and I was furloughed from my corporate job. I decided to take my food page and go at it full force.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Being furloughed from a job you’ve worked at for 4 1/2 years is never easy. The uncertainty that lies ahead is scary. Every time with my food page that I was uncertain, it was followed by reassurance. There are always struggles, but I know that I get stronger with each one.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
My food page is targeted to the small businesses that do not receive the hype they deserve. I like to showcase all those places throughout the entire state of Arizona, not just the Phoenix Metro. Most followers know me for not being fancy and not being afraid to try a restaurant in the middle of the desert. I’m most proud of the support and help that my fans and I were able to provide to small businesses during COVID. We helped raise money, fill restaurants, help them grow their followers and more! I think what sets me apart from others is, I’m not in this for myself, the views, the follows, etc. I’m in this for the businesses.

Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
I would say if you are just starting out, get your mindset in the right place. Don’t be discouraged if you don’t get a lot of views if you don’t have a lot of likes, or a lot of followers. Be consistent and authentic in who you are. The right people will come along and support you.
