Daily Inspiration: Meet Jasmine Sawyer

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jasmine Sawyer

Hi Jasmine, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
As a kid, I always seen my mother dressed up from head to toe. She was always the light in any room. My mom was different sizes at different times of her life and always had this confidence that I admire. In 2018, I was in Miami and saw all these empty boutiques and I said, “I going to have a boutique where all women can come and shop”. In May 2019, open my online boutique called Jas Monae. I sell sizes small-3XL. 5 years later, I know have a brick and mortar and made over 6 figures. My journey grew fast because when women see my brand they see themselves. I have a chubby stomach, big arm, wide calf and I’m
Still “THAT GIRL”. I want every women to feel the same confidence my mom showed me.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Of course not! I had days, weeks and months without any sales. I worked a full time job as a med tech to fund my business. I have women call me fat slurs to this day because of the brand I built but I wouldn’t Change a thing. I wouldn’t be here without the struggles.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I feel like my work separates me from other because in a world where everyone wants to be someone else or look like someone I showed women it’s okay to be yourself. You don’t have to wait to lose weight to dress nice. Wear that outfit NOW! I’m proud Women look at me and say I can wear that too, you damn right you can!

How do you think about happiness?
Living in my truth. It’s feel so good to love yourself flaws and all, in real life and on the internet.
