Today we’d like to introduce you to Janine Rotter.
Hi Janine, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, let’s briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
Over the past fifteen years, I have had the honor of educating and coaching the most notable clients through all aspects of their fitness and health journey, from personal training and nutrition seminars to my online nutrition courses on elimination diets, reset cleanses, overcoming emotional eating, and one-on-one private coaching.
I stepped away from the fitness industry in 2017 when my husband and I sold our businesses in Northern Arizona, one of which was a start-up boutique gym, where my passion for health and fitness was born. When we moved to Scottsdale, we were doing hard money lending that quickly turned into us being real estate investors in our daughter’s business, Krafted Renovations, where we now solely invest in new build custom spec homes in the Scottsdale and Phoenix areas. A year later, I started helping our son launch his first business, a fitness supplements and apparel company, UNBOWED, a platform where I continued my passion for nutrition as the Director of Fitness Nutrition, writing health, fitness, and nutrition blogs for the company until January of this year when I resigned to fulfill my yearning to start a podcast that has been a dream of mine for several years.
Today, through that podcast, In The Moment Live, I aim to empower women with thought-provoking interviews and conversations where no topic is too taboo. I want to bring unique life experiences by interviewing down-to-earth ordinary women, doing and living extraordinary lives! Women that most people would not even know their stories if it wasn’t for In The Moment Live.
Can you talk to us about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned? Looking back, has it been easy or smooth in retrospect?
At 52 years old, I’ve lived several lifetimes, and it keeps getting better the more educated I become about who I am, my purpose of why I am here, and the gifts I have to offer others. My journey led me to where I am today, and I am grateful for all of those bumpy and smooth life lessons that have taught me so much and keep teaching me. Every day I wake up to a new task and love the challenge.
I have had many obstacles, but I am incredibly blessed with an amazingly loving and supportive husband and two incredible children that teach me so much more than I feel I’ve taught them. Knowing your children haven’t outgrown us and genuinely love spending time with Mom & Dad.
The launch of In The Moment Live has been the most effortless launch of any business I’ve started to date, which reassures me that I am on the right path because it feels so good. I’m being mindful of creating engaging interviews for not only all of my listeners but topics that are fun and rewarding for me! I decided I would not battle the critical overthinking mind that has taunted me on how this “should” look, how it “should” be presented, or what other people will think or say.
In The Moment Live is me having fun; I’m good if I can change one person with one session. I’m following my heart and intuition, which is why it’s been so easy.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might need to become more familiar, what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a professionally trained women’s empowerment coach, certified nutrition and life coach that empowers women with thought-provoking interviews on my newly launched podcast In The Moment Live, my private Facebook Group, Guided Meditations, and Masterclass Sessions; during my coaching and conversations, no topic is too taboo, I love bringing unique life experiences to the table with these interviews or during my solo sessions.
During the last fifteen years of coaching, I have witnessed phenomenal transformations in diet and exercise. Still, during those years of coaching, it was overwhelming how more than 90% of my clients suffered from very low self-love, self-respect, and inner confidence. I have a deep seeded desire to change that, which is the driver for me when it comes to who I choose to interview for my podcast. How can this woman’s story, and maybe even better, her vulnerability empower other women to know that they are okay and perfect just the way they are?
This space is where women join forces to empower each other. We discuss health & wellness, sexuality, intimacy, and spirituality and how they connect for the most powerful and meaningful life without judgment. I have also created a private women’s only Facebook Group where I invite women to join me as I go live, In The Moment each week with an exciting new guest or solo, where attendees can submit topic ideas for a chance at it being the main topic In The Moment, plus the opportunity for them to be coached and interviewed live one-on-one in these live sessions.
What I truly love about this container is that during the private session, there is Q&A, allowing attendees to ask me and my guest questions during the live sessions, making it more of a motivational group session. The best part is that if anyone missed the live session, these “private sessions” are published publicly on YouTube, Apple Podcasts, and my website, Watch and Listen, where they go on to motivate and inspire both women and men alike. I love hearing from the men about how the session gave them a new perspective on being a better husband or lover!
Then, when the women are ready for the next step and a lifetime journey, I guide them through an experience and transformational journey that will inspire them to clear away the past and embrace the present moment to manifest a new beginning at my Who Am I? Retreat, where together, we discover our unique, ever-changing selves.
Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
I was born and raised in a small town and lived in a small community for 45 years, which has advantages and disadvantages. The most significant advantage is that everybody knows you. The biggest drawback is that everybody knows you, lol! Your life is under a microscope in a small community, and being a business owner is even more so. Moving to a city where no one knows who you are was refreshing, and you blend in.
Scottsdale is a fantastic city to live in. We live in North Scottsdale, with a little higher elevation, where it averages about 7-10 degrees cooler and has the most incredible dark sky nights with lots of wildlife that reminds me of Northern Arizona. When it comes to being a lover of great food and very particular about good, clean, and organic food options when dining out, Scottsdale keeps getting better and better restaurants, and I love that. Not to mention some of the best spas and shopping in the country are right here.
We lasted summering here for five years, but last year my husband and I said, “We can’t do this anymore; it’s too damn hot!” so we bought a lake house in Lake Arrowhead, California, where we can take quick getaways to get out of the heat during the summer months. Still, I always love coming home to Scottsdale.
