Today we’d like to introduce you to Isaiah Polk.
Isaiah, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Two years ago, I started with a simple thought in my head of creating a reality show “Real20sLife.” about young entrepreneurs in Phoenix, Arizona that has never been done before.
I wanted to bring attention to Phoenix in a positive way and hopefully get nationally known to see that there are youngsters with great minds and dreams. That can come out of a valley and or state that’s not really known for its businesses. Let alone being seen on TV, unlike today’s reality shows that come from other major states.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
This process of creating this vision, it’s had many obstacles for me especially just believing in myself to make sure that this can be obtained. Over time getting the right people to be a part of the vision and make sure they’re not just doing this for the “clout or the likes”.
Starting this vision with absolutely nothing and now, I have the best team I could ever ask for and a production crew. I definitely know that these individuals on my team will reach out and show not only the next generation coming up but also have what it takes to reach out to other people across the United States.
On how to be an example to go against any hardship you might come across in your life while chasing your goals. To go against the trials and tribulations just to keep pushing yourself.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
In all honesty, creating this vision has made me even a better person myself to not only stay focused and stick to the path that I chose by creating this vision. But also on a personal level of being a great father making sure my kids.
Are raised with a father figure in their life. Making this project happen being denied by VH1, MTV, and other big television networks and producers. Even having a major producer steal my show idea and turn it into something that it was not originated taught me that.
This vision was big enough to make it there so I have to keep it going. And everything in this world can fail for me but as long as I am a great father I have accomplished everything.
What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
One thing that I love about Phoenix, Arizona is that when you find that right team that has the same goals as you and genuinely stands behind you and claps for you even when you’re losing you can achieve anything.
It’s very rare to find because of the lack of consistency that I’ve encountered by meeting multiple individuals that have tried to be a part of this project most people just like the idea of my project and want to be a part of it and when it comes down to putting in the work behind cameras it’s never shown.
So definitely consistency is the key because without that you will never finish. And for the past two years, my social media platforms/ being out and about have definitely been full of compliments about me keeping this vision going and improving every single time I came out with something new trailer videos.
No matter how many people in the valley try to duplicate it or come out with their own reality TV show. They always revert back to “that guy that is making the Real20sLife Show.” And that’s what really touches me and makes me also go harder than what I did the day before.
