Hi Haili + Ricky, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Our journey with H+R Photo and Film began as a shared dream between the two of us. We both had a deep passion for storytelling through photography and videography, and we wanted to create a business that not only captured moments but also evoked emotions and preserved memories in a timeless way.

We started small, photographing friends and family events, always striving to capture the essence of each moment. As word of mouth spread, we began to book more significant events, and before we knew it, we were shooting weddings. The turning point came when we decided to take a leap of faith and fully commit to our business. We invested in high-quality equipment, expanded our skill set, and immersed ourselves in learning the ins and outs of the wedding industry.

Over the years, we’ve had the privilege of traveling to some incredible destinations, documenting luxury weddings around the world. Each experience has been unique and has allowed us to grow both personally and professionally. Our dedication to capturing authentic, heartfelt moments has resonated with our clients, leading to numerous referrals and repeat business.

One of the milestones that stands out is our recent feature in British Vogue’s Summer 2024 ‘Match Made In Vogue’ campaign. It was a surreal moment that validated all the hard work and passion we’ve poured into H+R Photo and Film.

Today, we continue to push the boundaries of creativity, constantly evolving our style and approach to meet the needs of our discerning clientele. We are incredibly grateful for the support and trust our clients have placed in us, and we look forward to capturing many more beautiful love stories in the future.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Our entrepreneurial journey has been a mix of challenges and triumphs. Initially, we grappled with building a client base and navigating the competitive landscape. Then came COVID-19, which hit us hard just months after launching our business. Despite the global shutdown, we used the time to connect with our audience through social media, laying the groundwork for future success.

As the world began to reopen, we found ourselves uniquely positioned to capture moments of newfound appreciation and enduring love. Clients trusted us to document their stories, whether it was a celebration of family bonds or a testament to resilience.

While the road hasn’t always been smooth, each obstacle has fueled our growth and made our achievements all the more rewarding.
