Daily Inspiration: Meet Gina Mure

Today we’d like to introduce you to Gina Mure.

Hi Gina, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I have been working with horses for over 30 years. I currently give riding and horsemanship lessons, train horses, and entertain with my pony at kids’ parties and events. His name is Earl Grey and he performs lots of tricks; he has been in a couple of commercials and models too! I also started a dog swimming business called SoxyDog Swimming. My two dogs Chloe & Sox who are no longer with us were the inspiration. We volunteered doing pet therapy visits at assisted living facilities and a special needs center called Cortney’s Place on behalf of Pets On Wheels Scottsdale.

There are many people who do not have access to a pool, so dogs are able to come exercise in the heat of the summer and swim with their owners. That has evolved into me providing dog swimming lessons for fearful or first-time dog-swimmers too. 🙂

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I currently am running on my 10th pacemaker due to a rare genetic heart condition. I had my first one when I was 7. Some would see it as a struggle but I am grateful it began when I was a child as it has taught me the importance from a very young age about what truly matters in life….following your heart and inspiring others to do the same. 🙂

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a natural connector and have always enjoyed helping others. My work with dogs and horses in my life has connected me to so many wonderful people. My husband and I own a custom home business and I am also a realtor. It has been really cool to look back and see how many relationships we currently have (both personally and business) started out by me giving a kid a pony ride or working with someone’s horse. I am also an actor/model and have been signed with Dani’s Agency for over 25 years.

I am very proud to say I am the wife of an infantry Veteran who served for 20 years.

Any big plans?
I am looking forward to spending more time with my husband traveling. We love the outdoors and have so many places we want to explore. I have always enjoyed singing and am hoping to connect to that world as a form of expression. My pony brings so much joy so I have more in the works to share him with the world via a children’s book someday too.
