Daily Inspiration: Meet Elizabeth Brooks

Today we’d like to introduce you to Elizabeth Brooks.

Elizabeth, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Throughout my years of working, I was very committed to climbing the corporate ladder. I was working in Scottsdale and commuting 1.5 hours each way to and from work for many years. After realizing how much time I was wasting in the car and away from my family, I decided it was time to make the jump. I was introduced to Virtual Assisting by someone who then became my mentor. I quit my corporate lifestyle and fully took the leap into being a solo-prenuer. I was mentored and contracted with her for close to a year before I decided I wanted to branch out on my own. That’s when Virtually Brooks LLC was born, in 2018. As my husband and I wanted to grow our family, I knew I was going to need help managing my business and I brought on Casey, who is now my Support Specialist. Since then I have turned my business into an Agency. I now have close to 10 Assistants who contract with Virtually Brooks. My assistants are vetted, trained, and all have unique specialties of their own. I personally love to have brand new VA’s join my team to pair up with my Senior Executive Assistant to create a mentorship and help people who were once in my shoes, learn the ins and outs of being a VA. I believe this is a way of not only giving back but being able to support other women in their dreams of working and having the ability to have freedom and flexibility in their life or with their families. I never imagined that I would ever leave the corporate world, let alone run an Agency of Assistants, but I don’t regret it for one second. I have the best job in the world and I wake up every day loving what I do.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
To be honest, I’ve been very fortunate to grow slowly and organically allowing us to handle each obstacle as they have come our way. When Covid entered the scene, we did lose a few clients due to the fact that their industry/business completely shut down. I completely understood their reason to end their contracts because they had no income let alone the need for an assistant. However, a year and a half later I’m really happy to see those same Clients coming back to us for service again. Lastly, I would say balancing motherhood and the business owner role has been my greatest obstacle. Mainly because those are my two greatest accomplishments in life and they both need a lot of attention and nurturing simultaneously. On Instagram, I share a little about life as a Mompreneur and what the juggle looks like on a weekly basis.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I feel most proud that I have created the life I used to dream about while being stuck commuting to my corporate job. For over 4 years I have been able to be with my family, no longer commute, and work with clients and assistants that I adore. I’m proud to say I have a team of excellent, hard-working, driven Assistants. Being in integrity and treating every client like their business is my own, is where our level of excellence begins. A Virtual Assistant is a remote contractor who replaces your in-person employee. They are experienced and seasoned Executive Administrative Assistants. A Virtually Brooks Assistant provides continuous high-quality support to C-Suite Professionals, Small to Midsize Business Owners, and Successful Entrepreneurs. Our main client base is a mix of Attorneys, Small Doctors’ Offices, and Business Coaches. A Virtual Assistant is your go-to person who manages your everyday tasks and allows you to focus on the big picture. We assist in areas such as; Daily Assistance & Executive Administration, Scheduling & Calendar Management, Email Management & Email Correspondence, Travel Arrangements & Expense Reporting, Invoicing & Finance Management, Social Media & Blogging. Oftentimes, CEOs get lost in the daily shuffle which pulls them away from the big picture. Our job is to make their job easier. What sets us apart is we work on a monthly retainer and the client works with the same Assistant every month. But what’s even better is each Client is assigned two assistants for the price of one.

We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
My favorite childhood memory would be tagging along with my Grandma when she would do open-houses. My grandma was a real estate agent my whole life and I would love to help her with mailers and go along with her to see the beautiful homes in Paradise Valley and Scottsdale. I grew up to get my real estate license but eventually chose a different path into the corporate world of business development and now owning a business myself.
