Today we’d like to introduce you to Dominique Fenstermacher.
Hi Dominique, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start, maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers.
I started as Division 1 football player who decided to quit football when I transferred from UNLV to ASU to pursue my music career. It was a hard decision to make but I always knew I wanted to work for myself and build something to shift the culture of my city and ultimately leave behind for my kids. What started as a simple music career has evolved into a production company that’s responsible for two of the biggest shows in Phoenix (The Powder Room and Music in da Cut). I just released my most successful project to date in November, titled ‘As of Late’, and it’s opened doors for me as an artist that I believe will get me where I want to be in this industry in the very near future.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Not at all, you can’t climb a mountain with a smooth surface anyway, so I don’t mind. The biggest struggles have been the lack of support locally. I find it very true that the city an artist is from doesn’t initially back them until they see other cities or other major platforms back them first.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar, what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m a hustler, owner of a production company, owner of a personal training company, and most importantly I’m soon to be the biggest music artist to come from the city, that’s what I’m known for in my circle. I specialize in making timeless music.
I’m most proud of my last project, ‘As of Late’ (available on all streaming platforms)
The biggest attribute that sets me apart from others is my authenticity; we don’t condone fictional narratives/ stories. I’m me every day, in any room, around anybody. I’ma man before anything else at the end of the day.
Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
God, my mother, and my business partner/ recording engineer Vause. In that order.
