Daily Inspiration: Meet Deyton Jackson

Today we’d like to introduce you to Deyton Jackson.

Hi Deyton, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My name is Deyton Jackson, but I go by KiddFriendly. I started street performing to support myself and my family, and over time, it’s become a powerful part of my journey as an artist. I’m a multifaceted creative—hip-hop is my foundation, but my passion also extends into acting, writing, modeling, and motivational speaking.

While I’m actively carving out my path in the music industry, I’m also the co-founder of HUNU, a health and wellness beverage brand focused on holistic living and empowering others. Everything I do is rooted in purpose, expression, and the desire to inspire people to live fully, freely, and with intention.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Every pursuit in life comes with its highs and lows. For me, one of the biggest challenges right now is finding balance—between my career and home life, staying consistent in my walk with God, and working closely with my business partner to rebrand and relaunch HUNU. The road hasn’t been smooth, but my faith and trust in God continue to carry me through. It’s in the struggle that I’m reminded of my purpose, and that nothing worth building comes without pressure.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m known for my ability to freestyle about anything—with precision, creativity, and finesse. Freestyling is my specialty. I can jump on any beat and speak on whatever’s happening around me in the moment, effortlessly weaving my surroundings into bars that land with purpose. My goal is to use my talent to edify—not just entertain—delivering lyrics that uplift and speak life into people’s spirits.

I make music that doesn’t degrade. Music my kids can listen to. Music my parents can listen to—without me feeling like I need to turn the volume down. My lyrics don’t bring people down, they light them up.

Beyond music, I’m an athlete by nature, so I’ve always valued health, wellness, and clean living. That’s what led to the development of HUNU Wellness, a health-forward beverage brand I co-founded that focuses on real ingredients, honest benefits, and a lifestyle rooted in balance and intention.

What sets me apart is the way I blend lyrical skill, spiritual purpose, and holistic living into everything I do—from the freestyles I spit to the wellness products I help create. It’s all connected. And it’s all real.

If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
I grew up being prepared to play professional football, and that athletic discipline shaped a big part of who I am. But even then, I was always quick-witted—something that naturally evolved into my freestyle skills. My siblings and I used to throw playful shots at each other, and that taught me to think fast and respond with creativity and precision.

At the same time, I’ve always been a reserved, deep thinker. I spent a lot of time in my own head, trying to figure out life’s deeper meaning—searching for truth in a world that often felt confusing. But with all that searching came a silent struggle. I battled depression.

As I got closer to God, everything began to shift. His truth started replacing the lies I believed about life, the world, and myself. That anchor of depression started to lose its grip. I began walking in freedom—and that transformation became the foundation for how I live, create, and move through the world today.

That journey shows up in my music. I freestyle with purpose, delivering lyrics that uplift instead of tear down—music that my kids, my parents, and my community can all listen to with pride. It’s real, raw, and rooted in truth. The same values apply to HUNU, the wellness brand I co-founded, which is all about clean ingredients, conscious living, and empowering people to take care of their bodies from the inside out.

Everything I do—whether I’m spitting a verse, building a business, or just being present with my family—is about inspiring others to live boldly, love deeply, and walk in purpose. If my story, my music, or my movement can help even one person feel seen, uplifted, or reconnected to their faith, then I’m doing what I was put here to do.
