Daily Inspiration: Meet Daphne Dash

Today we’d like to introduce you to Daphne Dash. 

Hi Daphne, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers?
I began writing and recording music at the age of 10. My dad and my mom loved music. They would play many diverse musicians and songs. I loved everyone from Bob Marley to Anita Baker. Music is my passion! I would record myself on one of those old cassette players. As I grew older, I began recording myself with my home studio. I’ve had my own studio since the age of 15. It allowed me to truly become intimate with the process of creating music. I’m able to create and release my own music consistently and it feels good. So far this year I’ve released two EP’s. One I named after the Louisiana state flower “Magnolia”. I’m from Louisiana and I truly feel like a personification of a magnolia. The 2nd EP I released is titled “Empress”. I named it after my single “Empress”. It’s one of my more fierce records. I write everything I sing so a song is a very vulnerable place to be for me. Both EPs are available on streaming platforms. 

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Creating music is a lifelong journey for me. The road is not always smooth in life. There are times when I feel overwhelmed with life’s obstacles. I’ve wanted to quit so many times. With that being said, I’ve realized that the greatest struggle has been overcoming myself. We are who we say we are. If we let the struggles bring us down then we become defeated. If we let it make us stronger then we become resilient. 

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I specialize in so many things. My first love is music. I am a singer-songwriter, producer, creative director, holistic healer, and so much more. I’m most proud of my musical accomplishments. I’ve released many albums on all streaming platforms. It feels great to know people are vibing with me all over the world! I’m always seeking higher grounds for self-improvement. Being from Lafayette, LA or from the south alone sets me apart. Ever since I can remember, I’ve heard the world through music. I express my souls’ wisdom and my eternal love in my music. I’m a March baby. I’m a 90s baby. I’m a timeless soul that knows music is the way to our deepest connections. It is the way to the highest vibrations. 

We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
Luck is a tricky word. I’d like to replace luck with fate. I’ve had so many blessings related to business and the people I’ve met on this journey. I trust we will experience everything we visualize for ourselves in some way. We are creative beings and we manifest things. I’ve manifested some interesting things! Let’s just say I’ve been very blessed.
