Daily Inspiration: Meet Crystal Riha

Today we’d like to introduce you to Crystal Riha.

Hi Crystal, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I started creating art ever since I was a toddler. Throughout the years growing up, I was on and off with it but usually always had some art class in school. I’ve been pretty active with it for the past couple of years, though, and have made it into a business and plan to do big things!

Can you talk to us about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It’s been pretty smooth overall and so far. A lot of trial and error when it comes to art events and websites and things that I’ve never done before, and quite frankly, I don’t know what I’m doing. So you learn as you go!

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
When it comes to my art, I’m constantly trying new things. My primary forms of art lately, though, have been my alcohol marker and ink drawings and acrylic art, sometimes on a canvas, sometimes on pots, or my personal favorite that I’ve been really into lately, cow skulls! I’m pretty all over the place.

Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
I’ve taken many risks in life, but none comes to mind when thinking about my art. However, I plan on becoming a “traveling artist” and want to invest in an RV, then remodel it and make it my own way. Then I want to be a part of art events throughout the US. I am taking the RV state to state. So when that time comes, I guess it’ll be a bit of a risk.
