Daily Inspiration: Meet Cedrick Holloway

Today we’d like to introduce you to Cedrick Holloway.

Hi Cedrick, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
I was born in the mean streets of Baltimore, MD. It’s really a bad place (at the moment) and the crime gets worst every year. But around 2013, I decided I build a personal brand called “lost without love” to compliment my pursuit of stand-up comedy. Something told me to always promote my brand while I performed on stage as if I was my own walking billboard or brand ambassador.

In 2015, I moved to NYC to continue my dream of stand-up comedy, and things were going fairly well (even with the ups and downs of NYC). In 2019, I moved to Los Angeles to expand my network, keep pursuing stand-up comedy, maybe get married and promote my brand (Lost w/o Love). But covid happened and I lost everything I was very depressed and I almost gave up on my dream.

Eventually, I got my personal life back on track and I was ready to make my come back. But in January of 2022, I lost my niece (Diamond Trueheart) to gun violence in Baltimore city. Her death really broke me and I lost everything again. After hitting rock bottom a FIRE was ignited in me that reminded me that life is short and you should live life to the fullest.

So I packed my things, started an LLC for my brand, relaunched the website for my clothing, started writing jokes again, and moved to Arizona to start fresh and the marathon to success continues.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
No, it has not been a smooth road.

A lot of my friends and family turned their backs on me at my lowest point. I lost my job and had major depression and mental health scares. But Arizona has been a blast.

Nowadays the only thing I struggle with is my love life lol.

I have a personal LLC and clothing brand: www.lostwithoutlove.com. I am high energy and passionate. I’d like to think I’m funny because I’m a stand-up comedian. (find me on YOUTUBE!).

Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
I was a fat kid, with glasses, a funny nerd, and obsessed with girls. I talked way too much in class and got in trouble on the regular.
