Daily Inspiration: Meet Cataldo Leone

Today, we’d like to introduce you to Cataldo Leone.

Cataldo Leone

Hi Cataldo, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Started when I walked away from a network marketing company to pursue my own business. We decided to launch Trinity Nutrition Lab, a sports supplement company. While growing the brand, I was constantly asked if I had MERCH so people could rep the brand.

So, I started making shirts with the company logo. That brand was very small and growing, but COVID hit and shut down my entire business for about a year. That’s when the brand started gaining traction more toward clothing, and I decided, hey, I have experience in clothing from my retail days, so let me double down on that. Fast forward to today, and the business is thriving and growing, leaving its roots in NJ to expand in Tempe Az with the help of a friend I met when we both worked in clothing retail.

He is now the marking guy moving the brand out to him in AZ. As I focus on pushing the brand out west, the future of the brand Isn’t stopping just in the USA, and we are JUST GETTING STARTED.

We all face challenges, but would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
No, as a small business owner, I started this brand, bootstrapping it with my own money and time. Covid was one of the biggest setbacks, but also caused a big comeback.

I appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
So, as I said, I come from a background in retail clothing sales from Express Clothing to the Children’s Place. I have taken my extensive experience in the field and somehow managed to bring it to Trinity Nutrition Lab… with a little flair.

I try to focus on the customer and not just the sale. Connecting with the customer and community is my biggest focus. I think that when you make a connection with the customer the sale just eventually follows. I also think that sets me apart from those big retail chains.

How do you think about luck?
Bad luck has played a lot in my business. Let’s face it: you learn more during the hard times than you do during the good times.
