Daily Inspiration: Meet Brooke Nichole

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brooke Nichole.

Brooke Nichole

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I wanted to be my own boss. I was tired of working in the corporate world. The job I was working at the time, started to become very unprofessional and toxic, so I took that as an opportunity to try to start my own business. I just launched my business this week and I’m already seeing massive results.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It’s been smooth for the most part. Getting the business idea set up and running plays the most challenging part. Once that’s all stable and ready, everything just takes off and flows like it should. I would say the biggest struggle was finding the funding to start my business. I had $330.00 to my name with no money coming in. I had no idea how to start asking for funding and how to make it look like I wasn’t struggling. Funny thing is, I never asked for funding. Money got extremely tight, there were days and night I couldn’t even afford an hot dog at the QT (which I love by the way lol). I just prayed it would all work out and it did. The struggle was rough though, not going to lie or sugarcoat that, but the reward is so much sweeter now. I just took to my Social Media pages (Instagram & Facebook) and got noticed due to my background in Dance,Modeling and Acting. A lot of people (even some in my close friend group) didn’t know I was on the Steve Harvey Talk Show or danced in two of my friend’s music videos that took off on YouTube. I had a huge following once and it was terrifying. I just got overwhelmed, I was becoming “famous” and I didn’t like it at all. It’s not what people think it is. I went completely ghost off social media for years and just recently got back on it.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
So I am the CEO of DEO. DEO stands for Dope Energy Only. Throughout my life, whenever I met a new peer, friend, colleague etc., they would tell me that I have good energy. It took me years to understand what that meant as I was super young at the time. Now as an adult I get it. I’m a goofball and big kid at heart. I’m a young soul who is trapped in a 35 year olds body. No one believes me when I say how old I am. I will say that I try to stay positive in even the worst of times and it’s paid off so I wanted to spread the Dope Energy Only to my Tribe.

So basically I’m providing consultation, both personal and business assistance. So when my fellow Tribe Mate (that’s what I call my supporters) had a rough day and all of their mental or physical energy is drained, they can schedule a 10 minute call to talk to me and I’ll boost their energy back by staying positive and talking them through whatever drained their energy. I’m basically a living, breathing phone charger haha. I also get the Tribe Mates asking me a lot of advice about modeling, acting, dancing and how to get started, so I help with the energy and vibes of those type of industries.

On the business side, I book calls to partner with businesses that want to amp their socials. I give them advice or sometimes they ask me to just run their social pages so I will. What I like most about the business side is that most of my TC’s (Tribe Clients) are here in the Valley. So I’ll go out and meet the business owners in person so that they can see my energy and vibe off me in a live setting. Gives them the full effect of DOE.

We’re always looking for the lessons that can be learned in any situation, including tragic ones like the Covid-19 crisis. Are there any lessons you’ve learned that you can share?
What I learned from the COVID crisis, is that remote work is amazing. I don’t mind going into the office to do work, as I’m an extrovert. The downside to that is I’ll feel the need to be very social that the day flies by and my work gets behind so I’d have to work late hours.

I think a hybrid model is a good mix when it comes to being in the office (if you aren’t given the luxury to work fully remote). Office time gives you that face to face interaction with your teammates vs. a Zoom call. You can collaborate in person a lot better than you can virtually. I will say that it’s nice to be remote a few days of the week because we all have some type of adulting to do unfortunately lol.
