Today we’d like to introduce you to Brittany Krenz
Hi Brittany, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Pampas B started October of 2020. We were redoing our home in Gilbert, and I was obsessed with the look of a certain plant that nobody seemed to know what I was talking about.
Fast forward a trip to San Diego when I saw pampas plumes growing and volunteered my husband to cut it for me….🤣poor Ryan it’s basically razorblades.
I brought some back from the trip, dried it and made myself an arrangement on our entry table. One night my doordash driver offered to buy it off of me. On a whim, I listed a few pieces on Facebook marketplace and offered it as first come first serve, social distanced window shopping….. The next day I think we had around 15 people show up at 8am.
It’s one of those stories you tell and wonder as you are telling it how you ended up here.
I had absolutely no intention of it forming a business. I even named it on the fly in my kitchen as I was making an instagram.
It has been one of the weirdest, most rewarding jobs ever. I started just selling Pampas and Pampas arrangements. We have now in the past 3 years, branched out to a whole line of dried florals, as well as a vase line I designed.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
In the beginning shipping was very interesting. It was quite a learning experience, but thanks to my husband Ryan we now have a really great system.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
We do anything custom from the color scheme to the design. I offer free consultations to anyone that has any questions. One week I’m doing a store install with hanging clouds, the next week we are doing weddings and shipping vases. It’s really amazing to know you were apart of such major events, or in someone’s home. It’s truly an honor. I don’t set minimums for orders or deadlines. (Although it does help). Unlike alot of companies that make alot of arrangements in advance we don’t, even though it would be more efficient. I like the part where customers really feel like it’s personalized.
Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out?
I think just enjoy it. I love what I do, and sometimes nomatter what the job is, there are hard days. There’s always gonna be someone that’s obsessed with your work, and sometimes there can be a good ol’ Karen. Don’t let that stop you.
