Daily Inspiration: Meet Brittany Janai

Today, we’d like to introduce you to Brittany Janai.

Hi Brittany, I’m so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Hi, my name is Brittany. I am a 28-year-old content creator in the Phoenix area. I started my journey years ago during high school. I love to create content on YouTube. I had a passion for showcasing my skills and everyday life. 

I became consistent with it and have gained a lovely community on my platforms. I have worked with brands that I love and have been invited to events with other local creators. I love to show people trendy fashion and beauty styles. And also local Arizona favorites. 

Alright, let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what challenges have you had to overcome?
It has not always been smooth. Being a creator can be hard as well as rewarding. 

It is like another job. I usually try to batch create and create everything on one day, so I don’t have to film more than once or twice a week. Some struggles I come across sometimes are not having the best lighting or sound and having to refilm a shot more than once. 

Also, being consistent and showing up for myself has been hard along the way, knowing I have a small community that enjoys my videos. Some days I don’t want to film and just relax and watch and support other creators. Taking a break is needed as you can get burned out by the constant filming. 

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I have been working in aviation for the past four years. I started my journey as a flight attendant in 2020, Which I truly loved. I enjoyed getting to know people from all over and learning about different cultures and backgrounds. 

I took a break from flying and decided to join another department for my airline. I enjoy helping others along their journey. Working a full-time job and still putting aside time to be a creator is something I’m most proud of. It’s not always easy getting off work and then going right to the next job, but I take pride in what I do and love what I am doing. 

Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
I am all about taking risks. You miss every shot you don’t take. 

I haven’t taken any big risks myself, but I have thought about leaving my 9-5 to focus on my content and see where it takes me. I have a vision for where I want to see myself by the time I am 30, and the goal is not unrealistic with my 9-5, but I want to have more time to chase my goals.
