Today we’d like to introduce you to Brayana Jeannet.
Hi Brayana, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I first heard the harp at a children’s talent show when I was five and told my mom that one day, I would play it. Growing up in Alaska, I started playing the harp at the age of nine—after briefly exploring violin and piano. In high school, my days often shifted from the elegance of performing with the Fairbanks Youth Orchestra to the raw, quiet beauty of long weekends spent salmon fishing and hiking. Those experiences in nature—set against Alaska’s breathtaking landscapes—shaped not only my love of adventure but continue to inspire my music today.
With over 20 years of experience, I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Music Performance from Ball State University and my Master’s degree in Music Performance from Northern Illinois University. Now based in Arizona, I share my artistry through intimate gatherings, weddings, and expansive harp sound bath journeys. Building on my classical foundation, I’ve cultivated a deep love for improvisation, performing an eclectic repertoire of pop, classical, and classic rock, while also guiding sound healing sessions with the harp’s ethereal resonance.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
One of the biggest challenges I’ve faced along the way has been learning how to run a small business as a musician. Beyond practicing and performing, I’ve had to teach myself how to advertise, navigate social media, build my own website, and, overall, find creative ways to put myself out there. While it hasn’t always been easy, these skills have helped me grow not just as an artist, but as an entrepreneur.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
What sets me apart from other musicians is the way I approach music. While many performers rely on written notes and often repeat the same pieces or sets, I see each performance as an opportunity to create something entirely unique. By blending improvisation with familiar genres like pop and classic rock, no two of my gigs are ever the same—keeping my artistic expression alive while keeping the audience fully engaged.
This same intuitive approach shapes my harp sound baths. Rather than following written music, I allow the sound to unfold naturally in the moment. Each session becomes an immersive and transformative journey—not only for those experiencing it, but for me as well.
If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
I believe my steady determination and work ethic have been the most important qualities in my success. Some might call it obsession, but I see it as an asset—an unwavering drive that keeps me focused, motivated, and committed to growing as both a musician and an entrepreneur.
