Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashley Froese.

Hi Ashley, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
While in residency, I heard a physician speak about Direct Primary Care, a primary care model where the doctor bills patients directly for less than insurance would charge. The clinic is supported by patient membership which allows the doctor more time and energy to spend on each patient. The direct doctor-patient relationship also allows for creativity and independence from things insurance dictates.

Alright, let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what challenges have you had to overcome?
It certainly has been a challenging road. I had 6 patients when the clinic opened, and Covid-19 was just around the corner. However, the saying “under-promise and overdeliver” has always been my approach, and it has yet to fail me. Each month we continue to grow, making those initial months of worrying about where to find more patients worth all the sweat.

Thanks – so, what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
The business is a primary care clinic. I opened the clinic almost 4 years ago and have never regretted it. I can spend 5-10 minutes with each patient in a traditional insurance model. With Direct Primary Care, I can spend as much time with each patient as they need, and we can talk about an unlimited amount of issues. Mostly, we get to talk about what matters most to the patient and devise a plan to address every issue. Even if I can’t fix every problem, I try as hard as possible. I can address all things any usual primary care doctor can, possibly even more.
