Today we’d like to introduce you to Ana Ita.
Hi Ana, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
From a young age, I had a love for hair and makeup. I enjoyed applying makeup on my friends and family for events and experimenting with new styles and bold colors on my own hair. Fueled by my passion and dedication to cosmetology, I graduated early and shortly after that, I passed my state board exams and received my Cosmetology license.
Both of my parents have always been my motivation. My mom, in particular, epitomizes hard work and dedication. Regardless of how exhausted she might have been, she never made excuses. She managed our household and took care of three children while my dad was away in the Army. Every day, she ensured we had fresh meals, clean clothes, and a tidy home. Even at 66, she continues to work tirelessly and maintain her responsibilities. She has taught me the value of hard work and respect. She demonstrated how to be a giving and respectful person to everyone, regardless of their background. My mom is my idol, embodying what it means to be a loyal and hardworking woman.
With the encouragement of my dad, who was one of my biggest fans, I always felt inspired to reach for the stars. We often sat together to discuss my goals and aspirations. Whenever I felt anxious, he would lighten the mood by joking, “Why are you stressed out? Do you have boats and businesses to worry about?” It always made me laugh, and I would respond, “Well, I’m trying to get there!” His support and humor were invaluable in helping me pursue my dreams with confidence and determination.
Unfortunately, 3 days after my 25th birthday, my father passed away. One thing he taught me that I’ll never forget is that you can control your mind and the decisions you make in life. I wanted to show him I would never give up and I would continue to reach for the stars! Shortly after he passed, I received my business license and took the next steps to accomplish my business goals.
We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Over the past decade, I have earned success, from being a top stylist in a Detroit salon to currently having my own small business in Arizona. Getting to this point in my career definitely came with some struggles.
Working with clients is an extremely rewarding experience. I wouldn’t be in the position I am without the continuous support and it is always recognized! They are more to me than just a customer; we build a bond and sometimes even long-term friendships. With any successful career, there are always people who support you and people who try to tear you down. As the saying goes, more money, more problems!
I definitely experienced my fair share of haters, some of who have never even met me. Living in a digital age, with social media on the rise, it is easier to hide behind a screen and spread negative opinions. I have learned to persevere through the drama and use it to inspire me rather than break me down.

My passion and dedication to playing several roles in my company sets me apart, such as being the Creator of Ana Stylez LLC, Product Manufacturer of the TAMED beauty line, & Cosmetologist to a thriving clientele. Are there any apps, books, podcasts, blogs, or other resources you think our readers should check out?
Over the past 11 years, I have listened to Motivational speaker Eric Thomas, who is a fellow Detroit Native. From his podcast “How Bad Do You Want To Be Successful?” a few of his speeches resonated with me. He asked, “How bad do you want to be successful? Do you want it as bad as you want to breathe?” My answer was yes!
In another episode, he talked about how we all have the same 24 hours. This encouraged me to get up before 5 am every day, starting my work day and accomplishing my daily goals as early as possible. One of my favorite books is “48 Laws of Power” It taught me about personality traits, how to value partnerships and learn about networking.
