Today we’d like to introduce you to All The Better.
Hi All the Better, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
We started All The Better in 2023 as a high school side project. We were tired of the way the industry made everything feel like a competition and the constant pressure to prove we were “real enough.” So me (Mel Graeff) and Jacob Nupoff set a goal to build something different.
When we say we wanted to build something different, we really meant it — even if it started a little chaotically. I reached out to our friend Emma in a panic at 2AM basically begging her to join, and Jacob started the hunt for a drummer who wouldn’t immediately quit once they heard our crazy plan. That’s when Cole Sinclair called. It felt right, even before we really knew what we were doing.
Truth is, we were bad. Like, barely-holding-it-together bad. But we kept showing up, kept writing, kept growing — and we’ve come a long way.
Eventually, Emma left for college (we’re proud, even if it broke our hearts a little), and it felt like something was missing. Then we met Gray Crabb. He brought the energy, rhythm, and heart we’d been looking for — and suddenly, it all made sense.
We’re four best friends, more like family, making high-energy, punk-rooted music — but more than that, we’re creating a space where everyone belongs. Loud shows, silly videos, and a community that actually feels like home.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It hasn’t been a smooth road, not even a little. But smooth roads don’t make good bands!
Early on, we somehow landed a huge opportunity opening for bands we had on our playlists growing up. We were hyped. “this is it, we’ve made it” levels of delusion. Then we played the show… and realized immediately we were very much not ready. We were out of our league, but I think that was a turning point for us. We got more serious after that show. Rehearsed harder, wrote better songs, and committed to earning every stage we step on.
We’re still learning, we don’t think we’re anywhere near our peak yet. But we’re proud of what we’ve built so far, especially the community that’s grown around us. And we’ve got big plans for what’s next, and a whole new era of All The Better is just getting started.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
We’re All The Better, a pop-punk band from Phoenix, AZ. From the beginning, it was never just about playing music. It was about making people feel seen, creating a space where everyone could show up exactly as they are, and building something real with the people around us.
We’re probably best known for our crazy stage energy and the ridiculous videos we post online, but what means the most to us is what happens offstage. It’s people becoming friends at shows, messaging us about how a song helped them through something, or just showing up and finally feeling like they belong somewhere.
We’re proud of the community we’ve built. It’s supportive, inclusive, and actually fun to be part of. We don’t take ourselves too seriously, but we care deeply about what we’re building. We’re not here to be perfect or mysterious. We just want to play loud music and grow with the people who’ve been with us from the start.
Alright, so to wrap up, is there anything else you’d like to share with us?
We’re just getting started. This next chapter feels like a whole new era for us, and we’ve got some big plans and even bigger goals. We’ve grown a lot, but we’re not even close to done. If you’ve been with us from the beginning or you just found us now, we’re really glad you’re here. There’s a lot more coming.
