Today, we’d like to introduce you to Alejandra Gamez.
Hi Alejandra, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
I’ve always liked the camera! Taking pictures and recording things are such great ways to look back on memories. As time passes, it’s the only thing we have left.
I started my social media during the pandemic, like most people, I imagine. I was actually at ASU’s Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and was learning how to record videos, edit, take photos, edit them, the whole thing! I posted one TikTok, and it did well, and I thought, “Wow, I kind of like this,” so I kept posting.
I ended up getting my first gifted collaboration and thought it was the best thing ever. Paid collaborations came later, but I’m not a full-time content creator (just yet). I have a full time job where I use my degree and just do this for fun. I do make some money, but not enough to make a living.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Most definitely not! The algorithm is constantly changing, and it’s hard to keep up with. It’s also really hard to create content while having a full-time job and being a wifey.
I think there will always be struggles, but that’s where we learn and grow.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar with what you do, what can you tell them about what you do?
I studied Journalism & Mass Communications at ASU, Class of 2020. Ever since I could remember I wanted to be on TV, I was always into acting & modeling. I figured Journalism would be fun, but I ended up not loving reporting.
After graduating, I landed a few jobs as a social media manager and am currently in marketing. Content creation is my hobby and side hustle, and I love it! I love creating all kinds of videos, vlogs, outfits, get ready with me’s, dancing, trends, you name it!
What makes you happy?
My love language is quality time, so spending time with my husband, friends, and family is what makes me happy. We could literally just be watching TV together, eating together, grabbing coffee, running errands, etc. It’s all quality time to me (as long as we’re not on our phones).
