Conversations with Vandana Singh

Today we’d like to introduce you to Vandana Singh.

Hi Vandana, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I’ve always been passionate about creating memorable experiences for families and communities. The idea for FunBox started with a simple question: what if there was a place where kids, parents, and friends could all let loose and have fun together in a totally unique way — while also capturing those moments through photos and videos they could keep forever? Especially in today’s world of social media and online connection, we wanted to build a space where people could create memories worth sharing both in person and online.

Antonio Nieves the Founder of Funbox launched the first location as an outdoor pop-up bounce park, and the response was incredible — people loved how immersive and joyful it was. Over time, we grew to become the world’s biggest bounce park, with 25,000 square feet of inflatable fun.

Recently, we’ve expanded into indoor spaces as well, which allows us to offer the same exciting experience year-round and in new cities. What started as a passion project has turned into something much bigger — a place where people of all ages can make core memories together!

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely hasn’t always been a smooth road. Anytime you’re building something new and different, there are going to be challenges. For us, some of the biggest struggles came with scaling — finding the right locations, navigating city regulations, and managing the logistics of creating a 25,000 sq. ft. experience that’s safe, fun, and welcoming for all ages.

When we began expanding indoors, that came with its own set of hurdles, from adjusting to new spaces to making sure the experience still felt larger-than-life. And of course, like many businesses, we’ve had to adapt quickly to changes in the world, including shifts in how families spend time together.

But every challenge has pushed us to be more creative and resilient. The excitement we see on people’s faces when they walk into Funbox makes every obstacle worth it.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
At Funbox, our work is all about creating one-of-a-kind experiences that bring joy to people of all ages. We specialize in designing massive inflatable playgrounds — from obstacle courses to bounce zones — that feel larger than life. What we’re most known for is being the world’s biggest bounce park, with 25,000 square feet of fun that’s immersive, interactive, and unforgettable.

What I’m most proud of is the way Funbox has become more than just a place to play. It’s a space where families connect, where friends create memories, and where people can capture and share moments that will last a lifetime. Even though our corporate team isn’t huge, everyone who works on building Funbox has become more like a family — we collaborate closely, support one another, and share in the joy of seeing our ideas come to life. (Special shoutout with much love to Antonio, Laurence, Suat, Tristin, Candice, Richard, Javier, Francisco, & Adan)

What sets us apart is scale, creativity, and heart. Not only do we offer the biggest inflatable experiences in the world, but we’ve also built them with social connection in mind — in today’s age of social media, every corner of Funbox feels like an opportunity to play, laugh, and create joy with others.

What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
The most important lesson I’ve learned is that growth and success don’t come from doing everything perfectly — they come from being adaptable, resilient, and putting people first. Whether it’s our guests, our team, or our franchisees, prioritizing connection and joy has guided every decision at Funbox.

I’ve also learned that challenges are opportunities in disguise. Every logistical hurdle, every unexpected setback, pushed us to get creative and improve the experience. At the end of the day, seeing families laugh, play, and create memories together makes all the hard work worth it — and reminds me why I started this journey with Funbox in the first place.
