Today we’d like to introduce you to Taylor Hicks.
Hi Taylor, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Charcuterie has been a passion project for me. I started out making boards for friends during ladies’ nights, game nights, birthdays… you name it!
I kept saying I would love to start my own business and kept putting it off until a friend of mine reached out to deliver some thank you boards to friends. From there, I decided why not now? Taylored Charcuterie was born. I have an amazing support system who believes in me and my husband especially has helped me in every way to make this dream a reality.
Through social media, friends, and word of mouth, my charcuterie business is starting to take off and I can’t wait to see how it will flourish!
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
While the creative aspects have been fun and I am learning new techniques/gathering new ideas all the time, it is not without the struggles.
Starting a new business is hard work. A lot goes on behind the scenes. Thankfully, I have had fellow business owners supporting me and guiding me through the logistics of owning your own business, (ie. licensing, insurance, financial advice, tips, etc.).
I am still learning and working out the kinks to provide the best possible service I can.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Taylored Charcuterie is exactly what my brand means. Tay(i)loring charcuterie boards and grazing tables to meet your style, color scheme, and any special requests you may have.
I love to use a lot of florals/greenery in my creations to add that organic style and bring art to your table. I recently added charcuterie letters and numbers to my menu which have become a huge hit with my clientele. I must say they are one of my favorites as they add a personal touch to any event.
I believe what sets me apart is I will adapt to any request while still maintaining a sense of my style. Whether it may be traditional charcuterie or desserts or even a fast-food board, you name it I can do it!
We love surprises, fun facts, and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
Something surprising that most people who follow me on social media or have met me through my brand don’t know is I am a certified occupational therapy assistant.
I have been working in pediatrics home health for the last two years. I love working in the healthcare industry and being a home health provider has allowed me the flexibility to take on this new venture to fuel my creative side.
