Today we’d like to introduce you to Stephanie Johnson.
Alright, thank you for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, how did you get started?
In 2019 I had a defining moment in my professional career. After working for a Health Care Company as a Healthcare Compliance Manager, I was utterly burnt out. Undervalued in my position. And my mental health was waning. I began to create various wellness products for myself, my immediate family, and my friends. Someone suggested I start selling them, and Prim n Proper Co was born.
You wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been smooth?
Since we’ve been in business, we have made positive efforts to connect with our local and extended communities by volunteering our time, donating products, and providing sponsorships to local organizations. We have made strides in bringing awareness to overall wellness through our handcrafted products but have experienced difficulties navigating through our growing pains, with COVID being one of the main factors. Our struggles have dealt with supply chain issues as well as employee retention.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Prim n Proper is a small business founded on the passion of crafting natural products to support wellness’s physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual aspects. We create handmade body products, teas, tinctures, and wellness products. Our dedication to our mission sets us apart from other companies that may sell similar products. “Our mission is to inspire others to improve overall wellness by adding natural, handcrafted products into one’s daily regime.” Each ingredient that goes into creating our handcrafted products is intentionally chosen based on its therapeutic healing property.
What matters most to you?
Mental wellness is something that matters most to me. It is important to me because I have had my journey with mental health obstacles, and people close to me also experience them. If more people had access to more things that help promote overall wellness, the topic may become less taboo and allow for more conversation around mental health struggles and wellness.
