Conversations with Ryan Furman

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ryan Furman.

Hi Ryan, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area in a family of real estate developers. Growing up visiting project construction sites with my parents, and learning the ins and outs of the business behind the scenes, I developed an affinity for real estate; helping my parents manage projects. In 2002, I moved to Arizona to attend Arizona State University, fell in love with the valley, and have been here ever since. During my time here, I have been immersed in real estate, working in property management and completing several of my own fix-&-flips. I have a strong business-oriented mind and deeply understand the idea of property investing, as well as the importance of finding a home that you will truly love to live in. I have spent the majority of my life learning real estate principles first hand and now I put all of my knowledge to work for you.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Absolutely not. My family never did fix & flips so that was a brand new learning process for me. Finding a home that needs an overhaul, calculating roughly how much it would cost to complete, and figuring out what my profit margin would be; that was all new territory for me.

Scheduling contractors and staying on top of them was a full-time job in it of itself. Not only that, but my venture into the world of being a REALTOR was new territory that didn’t come easy. I’m the type of person who likes to learn things by doing them, so taking all the classes and studying for the (extremely difficult) tests was not easy for me.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m your go-to Realtor for the greater Phoenix metro area, specializing in the east valley. I specialize in luxury home purchases/sales, primarily, but also have a special place in my heart for first-time home buyers. Too many Realtors miss the mark when it comes to care and concern for their clients, and that’s what sets me apart. I’ve been a home buyer and seller numerous times in my personal life, and I know what it feels like to have a Realtor make you feel out of the loop and uncared for. My whole business is based on the fact that I put my clients first, not the commission check. I keep my clients up to speed so they never feel lost during the process; explaining what’s going on, what the options are, and what it means to their bottom line. Don’t get me wrong, getting a nice payday is great, but having your clients feel good about you at the end of the process is fulfilling on a whole other level, and that’s what makes me most proud.

Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
When it comes to real estate, luck plays an extremely minimal role, if any. It comes down to hard work, market research, and diligent attention to detail. Plain and simple.
