Conversations with Ronn Moss

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ronn Moss.

Hi Ronn, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’ve been a 6th generation Californian and have never lived anywhere else until now. I’m loving the beautiful atmosphere of the desert landscape here in Scottsdale.

I grew up in Hollywood and began my career as a musician with my 70s band, PLAYER known for our #1 hit single, “Baby Come Back” and toured with Eric Clapton, Heart, and Boz Scaggs before launching my acting career in the 1980s as Ridge Forrester on the CBS series, “The Bold and The Beautiful.” I played this character for 25 years until 2012.

Currently, my wife and I are producing television and films and I am back touring as a solo artist worldwide.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been fairly smooth?
Nothing in life is always smooth, I’ve had a blessed career and am in great health, so this is most important to me now. I love hiking, biking, and weightlifting. My wife cooks very healthy meals and we love to entertain with what we call jam parties.

My biggest struggle has been reinventing myself after playing one character known worldwide for so long and returning to my first roots as a musician in the public eye.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am now a musician, actor, and multiple Emmy award-winning producers.

I am embarking on my debut as a director in the next film that I hope to shoot in Arizona. It is a western, something I’ve always wanted to do. I’m most proud of my role as a dad to my two daughters and I think what sets me apart from others is my ability to act, write, produce and do the music in my projects.

We’re always looking for the lessons that can be learned in any situation, including tragic ones like the Covid-19 crisis. Are there any lessons you’ve learned that you can share?
I’ve never let that stop me from being creative. We were locked down in Belgium during this time and I produced a whole album called “Lockdown Lover” of my wife’s favorite classic rock songs. You can take listen on Spotify.
