Today we’d like to introduce you to Noah Dabreo
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I’ve always enjoyed everything that has to do with cameras and videos. I got my first camcorder when I was 11, just making silly youtube videos etc. But I quickly transitioned to making trailers for movies that didn’t exist, making short films etc.
When I got my drivers license i started getting into cars, and I really liked the idea of making car videos, taking pictures etc. Just doing it for fun with my friends and my iphone. I decided to buy a camera of my own, a whopping $300 dollar point and shoot from Walmart, and tried making these videos I saw others making on youtube. I would shoot cars hanging out of my friends trunk, seatbelts wrapped around my ankles, holding the camera as smooth as possible.
I finally decided to buy a real camera, So I emptied out my bank account at the time to purchase a decent sony body and 35mm lens. Mainly again shooting cars and some gym stuff, but nothing crazy. People started seeing the work and I started doing paid shoots, making a little extra money here and there. Through meeting more and more people it just kind of snowballed into what it is today!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I can say with certainty that I have been incredibly blessed, but to say it has been smooth wouldn’t be the truth. There have been more than a few occasions i spent every dollar I had on some piece of equipment to further my capabilities, and ive had equipment fail sometimes, but besides that nothing crazy!
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a professional media creator, primarily focusing on video work but I do photos as well. I would say my specialty is working with tattoo artists and creating social media content. I would say im most proud of the style I developed, which I believe is a direct mix between cinematography and social media videos. I like to think I bring high level cinema to phone screens, whether its marketing content or just for fun.
We’d love to hear about how you think about risk taking?
I think risk taking is essential for any entrepreneur, and realistically anyone. My biggest risks have always been financial, buying expensive cameras without knowing if id ever make the money back or not.
