Conversations with Nirvvane Silverstars

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nirvvane Silverstars.

Nirvvane, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Well, I have two businesses! My art, Aerfyn Art & Illustration, and my spiritual readings with Soul Star Wavelength.

I’ve loved art since I was a little kid, so I’ve kept it up my whole life. After going through the school system, then higher education, and then out in the world of work, I experienced lots of disappointments around different jobs and pursuits that involved others. I ended up deciding to really go after my independence as a creator by making my own business out of my passions. Above all, I wanted freedom and fulfillment that wasn’t tied to anyone else. A future in which I had creative control and autonomy. So I started creating it.

I started with developing my art portfolio and posting a lot more online. I had already done commissions and artwork for people on a more casual basis since high school, so it wasn’t too complicated to take the leap into treating my art more professionally. Then, as time went on I felt called to start a spiritual business too.

Spirituality was something I had always felt connected to as well, and after going through a lot in life I found that I had learned from my experiences, and developed my own wisdom from them through the healing process. I was connected to the spiritual side of myself more than ever. Combine that with my ability to read tarot, and in more recent years astrology, and I am able to share that gift with others. Helping to guide them back to the truth and wholeness within themselves too. I was inspired and helped along my path by other readers, including those who also post their work online, on platforms like Youtube and Instagram. I wanted to give back like those amazing readers I found who helped me.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has definitely not been a smooth road, ha ha! I believe that the biggest struggles are always internal. Some of my largest hurdles I’ve had have been developing true confidence and self-love, and overcoming perfectionism. These are not things that are usually achieved overnight, and so it took a lot of willpower and determination to continually face my fears and keep pushing on. But it’s the biggest challenges that truly make us, and lead us to the truth of who we are. The adversity is what pushes you to grow. If everything had been easy for me, I would not have developed the wisdom, skills, and belief in myself that I have today.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
With my art, I love working with traditional mediums. To me, there’s something so special about artwork done on traditional mediums. Paintings from history still hold so much life, emotion, and beauty within them that is timeless, and I’m inspired by that. I tend to use color in particular way when it comes to my artwork. I’m always just trying my best to capture what I see – either in life or in my mind’s eye. It’s a very organic process, pretty much all done in “flow state” where I don’t consciously think much, so it’s tricky to explain in words. I’m always aiming to capture something intangible within my art. For me, it’s about the magic and the connections that art creates. I’ve mostly developed my skills independently, so I believe that’s what’s allowed me to develop my own unique voice, style, and viewpoint within anything I do now.

We’re always looking for the lessons that can be learned in any situation, including tragic ones like the Covid-19 crisis. Are there any lessons you’ve learned that you can share?
The most important lesson I think would be to really know yourself. When going through major changes and upheavals you have to be centered and grounded within. If you know who you are and truly believe in yourself, you can withstand and find your way through anything.
