Today we’d like to introduce you to Mic Drop Mania.

Hello Mic Drop Mania; so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Mic Drop Mania was established in 2022 by Colleen & Dave Specht, Hillary Hutson & Casey Currier. Colleen and Dave are no strangers to Downtown Chandler. In 2016 they opened one of Arizona’s most successful improvisation venues, “ImprovMANIA.” They provided laughter at their Main Street location every weekend for the past 7 years while both are becoming staples in the Chandler community. Hillary and Casey opened their Comedy Wonderland-themed “Mic Drop Comedy” in San Diego in early 2022, and both have decades-long ties to the Arizona comedy scene. In Chandler, we have merged the two concepts to create Mic Drop Mania, a “Boutique Comedy Experience.” The team is excited to bring Downtown Chandler what promises Arizona’s most extraordinary and unique comedy experience.

We all face challenges, but would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Getting the doors open to Mic Drop Mania was a great process. We were lucky to have Dave on our team, who has a long-standing relationship with the city of Chandler. We are excited to bring a unique and one-of-a-kind comedy experience to the downtown Chandler area.

Let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Mic Drop Mania in Chandler is a unique comedy experience in the valley. The Chandler space features a subtle Snow White theme throughout our intimate showrooms, indoors and outdoors. We brought in two of our favorite artists, Carley Ealey and Christopher Konecki, to bring the venue to life. From the attention to detail, enchanting design, and unique menu, Mic Drop Mania is unlike any other Arizona venue. Mic Drop guests are greeted with amazing murals throughout the property, custom (Belgium-made) light fixtures, canvas artwork (with a nod to the Magic Mirror) representing some of our favorite comics, and more. Our team enjoyed coming together to create a magical and unique comedy experience.

What do you like and dislike about the city?
To us, Arizona is home. It’s where our comedy roots began, and we are thrilled to have this opportunity to nurture the Arizona comedy community. We think Mic Drop Mania is exactly what the Arizona comedy scene needed.
