Today we’d like to introduce you to Mathew Luciani.
Hi Mathew, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers?
My business came about when, after years of teaching out of state, and years of making artwork, I needed a way to continue independently. I decided that starting a business is a great way to explore that. I am a multi-faceted, multi-media, interdisciplinary artist, teacher, and instructor seeking more involvement from the interested public.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
Struggles have been with liability; going through arbitration procedures, making sure to check on and obtain what is necessary for licensing and other legal aspects of the business.
I have also begun to see different sides of how people react to someone starting a business among our current, modern discourses. It is certainly a tumultuous time in many regards; politically, socially, and business-wise.
Gaining public interest to continue is generally a struggle in these ways.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Www.spiritthreadskills.com is my business website. Many disciplines of art I involve myself in are displayed there.
My art practice is difficult to describe, though what I as the artist would have to say about it would be rather personal. My love for exploration, my commitment to supporting and making ecological decisions that protect our life, and my passion for movement and expression.
The joy of interacting with nature and other life; these are all evident in my approach to making art as well as in my experiences teaching wilderness survival skills.
Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
From my own perspective, I have mostly been sincere, that is, from the time I first learned the impact of my existence, of my actions with others.
I have been sympathetic and empathetic in my approaches to understanding and I live for a purpose. Rudeness as a child is common, but I sincerely pursue my goals and accomplishments for the greater good, to the best of my knowledge and ability.
