Conversations with Macy Graham

Today we’d like to introduce you to Macy Graham.

Hi Macy, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
In 2020 my husband and I decided to make the big move from Phoenix to a college town in southeast Idaho. What a crazy year for everyone! After getting settled it was time for me to make a choice for schooling. Do I continue and finish a degree in childhood education? Or do I finally make the jump to begin esthetician schooling? It really was an easy choice for me. Paul Mitchell was just down the street from us, so I decided to sign up for a tour. The second I stepped into the building I knew I loved the environment! After about six months, I graduated and immediately opened up Pro Beauty! I started in my home taking lash extension clients. As my business grew I was able to open up a private studio where my love for natural looking services began. After about 3 years, it was time to move closer to family! My husband graduated and got an internship that brought us back home. The journey with Pro Beauty started all over again and we couldn’t be more grateful to be here! Anthem, Arizona is my home town so it just felt right to settle here.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Starting a business is never easy. You have to be determined to make it work! There have been many trials and errors with Pro Beauty. You just have to find a way to keep going until you do something that works. Deciding to stick with natural looking lash lift and brow services was the way to go for my brand!

The marketing strategies I learned from Idaho don’t always work in Phoenix. North Phoenix is huge, it’s not as easy for people to find me, so I have to make myself stand out! Starting permanent jewelry was an amazing way to set myself apart from the other amazing businesses in Anthem.

My husband and I were newly married and young when we decided it was the right choice to open a beauty salon. Becoming a solo esthetician in a private studio at 20 years old was tough because I had to figure everything out on my own. As long as you want something enough you can make it work! Determination is definitely the key to becoming successful.

I strive to help guests feel confident and cut morning routines in half. I take pride in making sure each experience feels luxurious!

Anthem has so many unique businesses to shop at, I wanted to help set myself apart by adding fun services to my menu. Permanent jewelry has been a game changer and has been so refreshing!

How do you think about happiness?
The best part of my day is getting to chat with my guests! Getting to know each face that walks through my door is such a blessing. I’ve had the opportunity to hear about so many amazing experiences! Clients getting married, getting into college, graduations, new relationships, trying for and having babies, and so much more! It is truly an honor to be apart of the excitement.
