Today we’d like to introduce you to Keisha Symone’
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I started baking around 10/11, really just watching my mom in kitchen. Helping her with the little things, chopping, mixing, and of course taste testing. Once I was old enough to make them on my own, my mom handed me the torch. I only made them for the holidays though.
Fast forward to 2015, my dad stated I should start selling them. One of his friends asked me to make him and Caramel cheesecake. After that order, I started selling in my dad’s building.
Fast forward to March 2020, pandemic!!
I was doing orders but not as much. Working and trying to bake wasn’t for me. But work stopped, my employment hadn’t came in and money was starting to look funny. Next month came, a friend asked if I could make her some cheesecake jars; I think turtle.
After that, the rest is really history. June 9, 2020 10 Sweet Treats had officially came to life. Moved to California in September 2021, and then Arizona January 2024. I’m grateful for all the trials and tribulations I went through during the pandemic. I honestly probably wouldn’t have gotten it together to have this business.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
I don’t have a real trials and tribulations to share. Being an entrepreneur/business owner, it’s not easy. No I don’t get orders every day, sometimes or in a month. But when I get an order I’m always grateful. These last few months have been really fruitful.
What are your plans for the future?
I have a lot of pans personally and for my business. I want to make 10 Sweet Treats known world wide.
