Conversations with Juma Martinez

Today we’d like to introduce you to Juma Martinez.

Thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, how did you get started?
My journey started from rock bottom as a child, growing up in poverty to soaring above and beyond! My determination and unwavering spirit has led me to where I am today. I am someone who refuses to settle and refuses to let failure take over. I see downfalls as a stepping stone to grow! Hard work and dedication are a huge factor in my life.

It wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It hasn’t been a smooth road; at the start of my career, I went through many obstacles as a single mother trying to provide for my son and I, while tackling different tasks to advance in my careers (Microbiology, Art, and DJing) . I have always worked day and night. It has been challenging, especially with children, but my hard work has paid off for all of us.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I have 3 careers currently. I am a Quality Assurance Specialist/Microbiologist for a vitamin company (NB PURE) testing for pathogens daily. In this position, I love to ensure all consumers get the best natural products possible. Good health means everything to me.

Djing is a love life for me. As someone who grew up loving music and dance, I now specialize in making great memories for those who attend my events! Seeing people let go of their worries while dancing brings joy to my life! Fortunately, companies that appreciate their DJ’s have been advantageous. Flying from coast to coast to spin sounds you love is a reward in life!

Now, my art, aka JUMA DOODLES, is a vibe! The way I can express myself through creativity lifts me! Painting is an outlet of peace for me, like meditating but with paint! When I receive orders for my art, it feels like a dream because people really love my art. It’s very rewarding because their feedback is always so positive. I’m known for being very strong and bringing good vibes to people in everything I do. What sets me apart from others would have to be my positive outlook on life obstacles. Although I’m sure many out there think how I do, I know I’m different because things that should destroy me never do.

Do you have any big plans? I’m aiming to buy another house with more space! 10-year goal: I want to paint full-time and do DJing when I retire from the lab world. Being retired and painting in my beautiful backyard is something I look forward to! I would love to see JUMA DOODLES all around the world!
