Hi Jay, we’re so excited to have you on the platform. Before we get into questions about your work life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
Twenty-five years ago, after exiting the military, I got back into the AC & plumbing trades. Throughout the years of service to my customers, I have grown to be the best-rated AC & plumbing contractor in the state of Arizona. We hold an impressive 5-star review record on all internet sites that collect reviews from homeowners.

All of our reviews can be found on Google, Youtube, Houzz, Facebook, Instagram, Yelp, FriendTrusted, LinkedIn, Home Advisor, Angie’s List, the BBB & many more. We have been the best-rated contractor for AC & plumbing services by Houzz from 2018 through 2024. We have taken the best of Houzz every year in between.

We have also been nationally recognized by Expertise as a top contractor since 2016 and every single year, including this year, 2024. We’ve been featured on Rich Noonan’s Best of the Best TV show in 2018.

Our work has also been featured in numerous magazines, including VoyagePhoenix & ShoutOutArizona.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The road from novice to master has had its challenges, but with a strong family and a solid military background, there haven’t been any obstacles I couldn’t conquer. The growth of The Cooling & Plumbing Co. came from countless hours of hard work on & off the battlefield.

Turning wrenches, soldering pipes, and sweating through the brutal Arizona summers were the easiest parts of the job and, of course, the most rewarding. The countless hours of paperwork, estimating, reading code books & product searching to make sure we are always giving our customers the best is the other half of that battle. Waking up at 5 am to beat the heat and sometimes burning the midnight oil, keeping paperwork caught up and bills paid, makes you question if it’s worth it.

At the end of the day, seeing the awards, the impeccable 5-star reviews, and truly knowing our customers are ecstatic is the best driving force. Life throws many curve balls at us, but how you play the game determines your standing in this world. I proudly stand for honor & integrity, and with that drive, I can achieve anything.

Thanks. What else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Plumbing & AC is an art. If you take pride in what you do, it will stand out, and people will not only love you but smile every time they see what you have created. Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
I’m extremely calculated, so taking risks is not an avenue I frequently travel. I’ll take little risks, but nothing will cause any true damage or setback that can’t be undone or rerouted. Life is a chess game; you must play it to win. Part of winning is to make calculated choices that should put you in the position to take the WIN.

There’s always an opportunity being presented, and you have to decide if it’s worth it. Staying on point, focusing, and weighing the pros & cons for achieving my goals is the driving force for all of my decisions. Would I like to get lucky, of course? I also appreciate consistency. The ying to my yang.
