Conversations with Jaci Rivas

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jaci Rivas.

Hi Jaci, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I always used to hear that diamonds are a girl’s best friend, but for me it’s always been nails. Ever since I was little, I remember doing my mom’s or stepmom’s toes, and that passion carried with me through my childhood, teenage years, and now into adulthood. Although I will not touch feet with a teen for like now haha.

When my husband encouraged me to find something I truly loved, I realized nails had always been that passion. What started as something small quickly turned into a business I built overnight, fueled by dedication and creativity.

Now as a mom myself, I connect deeply with helping other moms feel beautiful even in the middle of our chaotic, toddler-filled lives. Getting to this point took a lot of effort, belief in myself, and the support of my community. I’ve learned that success comes from passion, perseverance, and having a village to remind you not to give up when things feel tough.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
No, it definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. Like most new small businesses, there were things to figure out expenses, licensing, deciding between in-person services or press-ons, and even setting the right pricing. But the biggest struggle for me has been my mental health.

What many business owners don’t talk about is the anxiety, stress, and fear that comes with starting something from scratch. For me, I tend to see a goal and want it all perfectly in place overnight but that’s not realistic. I had to learn patience, not only with myself but with my business too. Growth takes time, and just because it doesn’t happen instantly doesn’t mean it won’t happen.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m a home based press-on nail artist and at home nail tech, and I love bringing each client’s nail dreams to life by hand. I specialize in both custom press-on nails and in person services, whether that’s gel, GelX, or dip.

What I’m most proud of is being able to start this business from the ground up as a mom of two and a wife, while still creating a space where others can feel good about themselves.

What sets me apart is the flexibility and comfort I offer. Not only do I create press-ons and offer in-home nail services, but I also welcome clients into my space even if they have kids. I have a designated playroom for little ones, so moms don’t have to choose between self care and childcare. I also make myself available for late night appointments and even select weekends, because I know how busy life can get. My goal is to make nails accessible, fun, and stress-free for everyone.

How can people work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
People can work with me by booking nail services or ordering custom press-ons directly through my Linktree. Whether you’re local and want in person Gel, GelX, or dip nails, or you’d like a custom press-on set shipped to you, I make it easy to get started.

I also love collaborating with other small businesses, creatives, or brands whether that’s product features, design collabs, or community events.

And the simplest way to support me is through social media follow, like, comment, or share my work. You can find me everywhere at @levelupnailsaz. Every little bit of support means the world and helps me continue growing my business and creating beautiful nails.
