Today, we’d like to introduce you to Isaac Barraza.
Hi Isaac, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’m Isaac Barraza. I’m from Brooklyn, NY. I moved here four years ago because I wanted more. I have a great friend, Moudi, who moved to Arizona first and had told me that it was really nice out here and that one of his friends had a landscaping business and was willing to hire me if I was able to get down here. At the moment, I didn’t have much going for me in Brooklyn, so I decided to take that leap of faith and move to Arizona.
I got to Arizona and worked landscape with my friends for six months or so. I decided to try something else and went into concrete. I really liked concrete, but I just kept feeling like I wasn’t doing something I really loved. One day, driving home from a long day, I was like, “Man, I need something else, something that if I’m going to be tired, at least I should love doing it and getting more money.” On the highway back home, I saw an 18-wheeler, and then I saw a 26′ box truck and started to think, what do I need to drive that?
Once I got home, I started to look for jobs with box trucks, and on YouTube, I saw that with a 26′ NON-CDL, you could drive with just a regular license. I got a job and passed the requirements to drive and hit the road! I drove for two years 1/2 and loved it, but I knew I had to get out of it cause sitting for too long isn’t really good. While driving all over the States, I was on the phone with one of my aunts, and she was cleaning the house. I asked how much she got paid, and I started to think everything needed to be cleaned all the time. How about if I do this bigger? How?
So, doing my research, I saw that commercial cleaning and post-construction cleaning were actually in high demand. I paid for courses, and while driving, I listened and learned more about the industry and said, “Well, let me get out of trucking and start a cleaning business and hope for the best!” My mother and all my aunts would be cleaning houses in Brooklyn, so I was already in the industry; I just didn’t know it yet!
I started my cleaning company “Titan Night Cleaners LLC” and it was hard in the begging because now I had to actually put everything, I been learning of cleaning doing my research over the road and go and actually find leads, cold calling and all the basic marketing techniques. I ended up getting a coffee factory/office and I started getting to work I got another one and from there on it was more being able to fulfil the accounts and also being able to do my morning job driving 26′ box trucks locally. For two years now, we have been in post-construction cleaning.
Due to that, I’ve always known that Phoenix has a lot of potential to grow and be a big city. Since I have been here, it’s grown so much, and I see a lot of apartment buildings being built, as well as houses, commercial places, and industrial.
So I saw an opportunity to get into post-construction, and we were blessed at the start of 2024 because we have been so busy and have grown to 8 employees now we have enough work for our employees, and I’m able to see all the hard work that I put in time and sacrifices, all the time away from my family and missing important dates, it’s starting to pay off a little by little, but we are deficiently doing better than where we started four years ago!
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Definitely not. I had to deal with the brutal Arizona heat and rude employers. I had to deal with my engine block overheating. I had to deal with just living check by check till I could figure out how to get my first account. I had a lot of bills piling up.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar with what you do, what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m a NON-CDL OTR box truck driver. I deliver general freight across the country.
I’m known for having a cleaning business and starting from nothing and not knowing anything about business. I just knew I didn’t want to be in the same place I was before. I feel what sets me apart from others is the way I think of life and work and the sacrifices that need to be made to get to a place where not a lot of people will.
Who else deserves credit for your story?
Yes, I did have a lot of help getting to where I am today. First of all, my family, Moises Barraza, Veronica Barraza, Yarely Barraza and Melany Barraza played a huge role in who I am today.
When I needed help, and I don’t like to ask for help, they always stood by my side and reassured me that I wasn’t alone and that they believed in me even though I didn’t know much about business, but they saw that I was determined and had a dream of becoming a millionaire! I just want to give them a huge shout because everything that I’m doing is to give them a better life.
My friend Moudi Mishal is more than a friend. He’s my brother, and he opened his doors to me. He was the first person to help me clean my very first account. He never asked me for anything in return, and I want to thank him cause without him inviting me into his place, I would still be in Brooklyn doing who knows what.
I also want to thank my friend and my other brother, Daniel Vidals. He’s heard all of my crazy ideas and of all the things that I have been through firsthand, and we’ve been closer than ever now that we have become business partners in “Titan Night Cleaners LLC.” He’s been through thick and thin. The ups and downs of business have always stayed! I just want to say thank you to Catherine Lara as well for letting you know of me and giving me the chance to tell a little of my story.
