Conversations with Evan Roszhart

Today we’d like to introduce you to Evan Roszhart.

Hi Evan, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My story begins in Georgia, where I earned my undergraduate degree from Valdosta State University and later completed my MBA at the University of Georgia. I worked my way through college by serving tables and bartending — that experience taught me the value of hard work and gave me a natural foundation in customer service. Understanding people, communicating clearly, and going above and beyond to deliver a great experience became second nature.

After undergrad, I pursued a career as a professional golfer, competing for six years on the mini tours. Golf has always been a huge part of my life, and it gave me a unique perspective when it comes to designing putting greens and outdoor spaces. Creating functional, beautiful environments — especially ones that enhance every day life — is something that comes very naturally to me.

When I transitioned out of professional golf, I moved into the home improvement industry and became the Operations Director for one of the largest companies in the Phoenix Valley. While I gained a lot of experience, I also saw the industry’s darker side — dishonest practices, poor communication, and a lack of integrity. That’s when I knew it was time to build something different.

I started All Valley Turf with a mission to create high-quality outdoor spaces that homeowners love — and to do it the right way. We’re fully committed to honesty, craftsmanship, and treating people the way we’d want to be treated. That simple principle has guided our growth and helped us earn the trust of clients across the Phoenix metro area.

Whether it’s a custom putting green, pet-friendly turf, or a full backyard transformation, we approach every project with care, attention to detail, and a deep respect for our customers’ vision.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Definitely not a smooth road — but I think the challenges have been a big part of what’s shaped both me and the business.

Starting out, leaving a stable leadership role to launch my own company was a major leap of faith. I knew I wanted to build something better — more honest, more customer-focused — but getting the word out and proving myself in a crowded market wasn’t easy. There were long days, tight budgets, and a lot of pressure to wear every hat in the business, especially in the early stages.

One of the biggest challenges has been earning trust in an industry where homeowners have been burned before. Many people are skeptical because they’ve dealt with contractors who overpromise and underdeliver. I’ve had to be intentional about proving that we’re different — by being transparent, showing up when we say we will, and standing behind our work.

There were also growing pains — from managing crews to balancing quality with efficiency, and learning how to scale without losing the personal touch. But every setback has taught me something valuable. I’ve learned that consistency, integrity, and treating people right always pay off in the long run, even if it takes time.

Looking back, the road hasn’t been easy, but it’s been worth it. The tough moments pushed me to grow, and they helped build the kind of company I’m proud to stand behind today.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
At All Valley Turf, we specialize in artificial grass installation, custom putting greens, pavers, and hardscape design throughout the Phoenix metro area. Whether it’s a small backyard upgrade or a full outdoor transformation, our goal is always the same — to create a space that’s beautiful, functional, and built to last.

We’re especially known for our putting greens, which are custom-designed by a former PGA professional — myself. That hands-on golf background gives us a unique edge in designing greens that not only look great but also perform like the real thing.

What truly sets us apart, though, is our commitment to quality and integrity. We only use the highest quality materials, and everything we install is American-made — from our turf to our backing systems. It’s important to us that our clients get durable, safe, and eco-conscious products that are built to stand up to the Arizona heat.

We’re fully licensed and insured, and we back our work with strong warranties. But beyond the technical side, we focus on doing things the right way. Too many companies in this space overpromise or cut corners — we do the opposite. We’re transparent, reliable, and we treat our customers the way we’d want to be treated.

What I’m most proud of is the trust we’ve built. With a 4.9-star rating on Google and a 5-star rating on Yelp, most of our business comes from referrals — which tells me we’re delivering the kind of quality and service people remember.

At the end of the day, we’re not just installing turf or pavers — we’re helping people create spaces they love spending time in so they can make lasting memories with their loved ones. That’s what makes this work so meaningful.

Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
Most people who know me professionally are surprised to learn that I used to be a professional golfer. I spent six years playing on the mini tours after college, chasing the dream and competing across the country. That experience didn’t just shape my discipline and mindset — it’s also a big reason why I have such a deep passion for designing custom putting greens today. It’s second nature to me.

Another thing people might not realize is that I worked my way through college bartending and waiting tables. That background taught me how to connect with people, solve problems under pressure, and provide top-tier customer service — skills I still use every day in my business. I also love Chick-fil-A. Haha

A lot of contractors focus purely on the technical side of the job, but I bring a customer-first approach that’s rooted in hospitality and personal experience. My goal has never been just to install turf — it’s to build something lasting, earn trust, and create a great experience from start to finish.
