Today we’d like to introduce you to Dylan Arndt.
Hi Dylan, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I always knew that I wanted to work in entertainment since I was in grade school, and that passion led me to pursuing film school at Arizona State University. Upon graduation I began writing for the Relentless Beats website as a contributor and later continued on to manage the website’s content by building a team of writers and systems to aid in the continued contributions to RelentlessBeats.com. This gave me the confidence to pitch various roles for myself at the company, utilizing skills that I gained both as an editor for the website and as a film student. Eventually, I was offered a role in marketing for the company which has resulted in over 10 years of expertise and development within the role, growing alongside the company.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I would say that it has been relatively smooth, but there have certainly been opportunities along the way to further my knowledge. I think one of the most important things to recognize as your career advances is that there are always new things to be learned and often times you are not the smartest person in the room. Use every situation as an opportunity to digest new strategy, opinions, and experience. About 3 years into my time at Relentless Beats, I decided to go back to school and pursue a Masters degree in Digital Audience Strategy, as I recognized that while I got the job I wanted, there was more I could do to be the best at the job I could be. I’ve also been one to seek learning opportunities from my peers because when you put yourself into a diverse portfolio of situations, you find yourself learning to think in new ways, ultimately broadening your understanding of your work.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am the Sr. Director of Brand & Marketing at Relentless Beats. My responsibilities include the oversight of all marketing strategy for Relentless Beats from music festivals to nightclub events and everything in between. I work on the development of our marketing budgets, creative direction, social media, paid ad strategy, ambassador and street team promotions, and so much more. I think the work that I have the most fun with is the creative direction of our larger festivals, and I am very proud of the work that we have done specifically on Goldrush. With the unique venue of Rawhide Western Town, there is so much room to be creative in the Wild West space. Its cooky, its cinematic, its emblematic of the state we live.
