Hi Dorcas Rosy, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
I am a fashion influencer, freelance makeup artist, and hair stylist in Phoenix, Arizona. I originally started my career five years ago in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. As someone passionate about beauty and fashion, I faced challenges when I moved from Philadelphia to Phoenix two years ago. It was challenging to secure new brand deals as a fashion influencer and build up my client base as a makeup artist and hairstylist. It felt like starting over as a budding entrepreneur, promoting my brand and earning clients’ trust from scratch. While I have yet to reach the pinnacle of success, I am determined to keep working hard and remain dedicated until I achieve my goals. But for now, I enjoy every step of this journey towards success.
Can you talk to us about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned? Looking back, has it been easy or smooth in retrospect?
As a professional in the beauty and fashion field, I encountered obstacles when relocating from Philadelphia to Phoenix two years ago. Establishing new partnerships as a fashion influencer and attracting clients as a makeup artist and hairstylist was challenging. It felt like launching a fresh venture, requiring efforts to market my brand and gain customer credibility.

I curate outfits, provide styling tips, and collaborate with brands to promote their products. I aim to inspire my audience to express themselves through their style and feel confident in their clothing.
As a freelance makeup artist, I specialize in creating natural, glowing looks that enhance my clients’ features and make them feel beautiful. I have experience working with various skin tones and types and am always up-to-date on the latest beauty trends and techniques. I love helping my clients look and feel their best for any occasion, whether a special event or a day-to-day look.
As a professional hairstylist, I am known for my various braiding styles, wedding hairstyles, creative branding designs, and personalized hair treatments. I stay current on the newest techniques and products in the industry to ensure that my clients receive top-notch service. Whether it’s a sleek blowout, beachy waves, or a bold new hair braiding style, I strive to bring out the best in each client’s hair.

We’d love to hear about your fond memories from growing up.
I spent hours playing with my Barbie, dressing her in different outfits, and creating new looks for her. My parents saw how much I enjoyed playing with my Barbie and encouraged my creative side by getting me more dolls and accessories to expand my collection. Looking back, that Barbie doll was more than just a toy to me – it was the beginning of my journey into the world of fashion and beauty. And I will always be grateful to my parents for giving me the gift that sparked my creativity and passion.
