
Today we’d like to introduce you to Donna Werking.
Hi Donna, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
My career began in the sports industry in 2006. It’s a very competitive field to be in and mostly dominated by men. I enjoyed the atmosphere and competition in the workplace. It’s where I was able to showcase my drive, talents, and enthusiasm. I was able to explore all aspects of the sports industry, from scriptwriting and creating events and promotions to advertising, marketing, and fulfillment.
After working in sports in my late twenties through early thirties, I decided I could do more on my own with full autonomy. In 2009, I created my freelance consulting agency. I was also able to focus on ideas I had milled over in my mind and bring them to fruition.
I founded the New Year’s Eve Boot Drop in Prescott, Arizona, and also launched TravelNorthernAZ.com, which is an online resource for Northern Arizona tourists. But the best and most rewarding venture was creating Northern AZ Social, LLC – a full-service marketing agency in 2015.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Due to a strong work ethic and the relationships built along the way, I was able to launch the first social media marketing agency in Prescott, Arizona, and fill a niche that was much needed at the time.
We specialize in digital marketing, social media, and traditional marketing: television, OTT, copywriting, radio, and more. It was a perfectly aligned concept for the time and place in our area. It was not difficult to launch a full-service marketing agency and be successful. The community very much needed it.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
We specialize in digital marketing, traditional marketing, social media, and building custom plans for each client. We know what works best in our region for each client. We are most proud of giving back to our community by sitting on boards and committees and helping these nonprofits enhance their presence. We act as a guide for these agencies at no cost to them.
We are most known for our events. We support the Prescott Frontier Days – World’s Oldest Rodeo with their marketing strategy and digital footprint. One of our most fun clients as we are heavily involved in the year-round planning.
Donna Werking, founder of Northern AZ Social, is also known as the originator and founder of the New Year’s Eve Boot Drop in Prescott, Arizona. We first conceived the idea in 2006, mirroring the Pine Cone Drop. The momentum and concept came to life in 2010, and now the event has become a part of Prescott’s history for more than a decade.
What sets us apart from other marketers is our customization. Our team goes above and beyond to solve the issues for our clients. Our experience has been built upon hundreds of different industries and small businesses.
What are your plans for the future?
We continue to grow with the times and embrace technology such as artificial intelligence. We continue to set the trends for our area with respect to new marketing strategies.
