Hi Delilah, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I’m FitDelilah, a dedicated personal trainer with over 8 years of experience in the fitness industry. I have been working out consistently for 5 years and am passionate about helping others achieve their fitness goals. My clients have seen incredible results while working on their fitness journey with me. I have had the opportunity to work with individuals from all fitness levels, both male and female. With a personal journey of losing over 100 pounds, starting at 220 pounds, I understand the challenges and triumphs it takes to transform one’s body and lifestyle. I decided to make a change due to my unhealthy weight, discomfort, and being sick constantly.
My journey from drinking alcohol and eating junk food to living a disciplined lifestyle has not only transformed my physique but also improved my skin, hair, and overall well-being. I started my journey by setting specific, achievable goals for myself: losing weight, increasing my strength and endurance, and adopting a healthier lifestyle. I also noticed improvements in my overall health, such as better sleep, lower stress levels, and improved mental. I also significantly changed my diet, focusing on whole, nutritious foods and cutting back on processed, sugary foods. I learned how to prepare and plan my meals to ensure I was fueling my body properly and avoiding unhealthy temptations.
As I continued my fitness journey, I saw positive changes in my body and mind. I felt stronger, more energetic, and more confident in my abilities, which led me to start competing competitively in bodybuilding. This new journey requires discipline, perseverance, and a strong commitment to training and nutrition. Within the first six months of my journey, being consistent and focused allowed me to become a Sponsored Athlete with Team Built out of Alameda, CA.
I am excited to announce that I will participate in my 5th bikini show here in the Valley this June. My journey is a testament to the power of dedication, hard work, and perseverance in achieving one’s fitness goals. It gave me a solid understanding of the key principles and strategies for success in this sport and my new lifestyle. As an amateur bikini bodybuilder, I must embrace a strict and healthy lifestyle to achieve my goals. I am proud of how far I have come on my fitness journey today. I have achieved many goals and continue challenging myself to reach new heights. Fitness has become a fundamental part of my life, and I am grateful for its positive impact on my overall health and well-being. I look forward to becoming a Professional Bodybuilder here very shortly.
It wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
I faced obstacles and setbacks throughout my journey, but I never gave up. I learned to listen to my body, be patient with myself, and stay consistent in my efforts. I found support and motivation from friends, family, and, my coaches., Having a great coach can make a significant difference in your fitness journey. A knowledgeable and experienced coach can provide expert guidance, personalized programming, motivation, accountability, and support to help you reach your full potential. Being a personal trainer myself, I recognized the importance of good coaching. A great coach can make a difference in your fitness experience. They should help you achieve your full potential and reach your goals. A great coach will tailor their approach to your goals, needs, preferences, and abilities. They should believe in your potential, celebrate your successes, and help you navigate challenges, setbacks, and obstacles with positivity, resilience, and unwavering support.

Do you have any advice for those just starting?
Having a good coaching and support system and goals are the two most important and valuable things for anyone starting their fitness journey, making a lifestyle change, or just wanting to be healthy.
Set Clear Goals:
Define what you want to achieve with your workouts. Whether it’s improving your overall fitness, losing weight, building muscle, or increasing flexibility, having specific goals will help you stay motivated.
Hire a Trainer or Coach:
Determine your goals before looking for a coach, and clearly understand what you want to achieve or improve. This will help you find a coach who specializes in the areas you need help with. Look for coaches with experience and expertise in the places you want to work on. Review their qualifications and see if their coaching style aligns with your preferences.
Make sure you feel comfortable talking to the coach and that they listen to your needs and concerns. Ensure your chosen coach offers a structured approach to help you achieve your goals.
